TrumPutinGate

Why? Comey testified that be basically didn't know sh!t about the investigation into Trump or what any of his agents were doing or anything about Christopher Steele. How would it help Trump to get rid of the guy in charge that knew nothing about the investigation?
Tell that to Trump. He told Lester Holt he fired Comey for refusing to shut down the investigation. At the time, Comey had the power to do that.

That reminds me, remember how the first excuse they offered was that Comey had been "unfair" in the Clinton email investigation? This coming from the crew that had been yelling to "lock her up" for months.

So rich.

Obama didn't ask him to lay off Hillary then fire him when he refused. Doesn't matter what we might have wanted.

But either he did or he didn’t have to. Maybe he had one of his other inept peons handle the dirty work. Maybe on a tarmac somewhere or by leaking memos. Regardless Trump fired him for being inept. It’s that simple.

I can't believe that anybody would want a duly elected President thrown out of office for a minor offense. No matter how much I disliked Obama, I wouldn't want to put the country through removing him unless it could be proven that he did something like collaborating with the enemy during wartime or something similarly egregious. You people are selfish.

What a snowflake.
What about being involved with Russian money laundering?

I haven’t followed that. It seemed far-fetched.

If I’m trying to be objective, I would place the highest significance on crimes that compromise his oath of office. This seems like it could fit that, if there’s any merit to it.

Next would be crimes that occurred while in office. I doubt he’s still laundering money. (frankly I doubt he’s personally competent to launder money in significant sums)

Next would be crimes that helped him get elected. This also seems like it could be related.

Least of all would be crimes that predated his campaign and were unrelated to the campaign or presidency.

It's hypothetical, but if there is evidence of Russian financial entanglement going back years, what do you do with it?

It can't be argued that Americans knew this was who Trump was when they voted for him.

Why is having Russian investments a problem? Unless you can show collusion too.

Back to the speeding analogy: What do you think the police are doing when they pull people over for moving violations? You think they care about writing tickets? Why do you get to drive to work every day like you’re casting for a Fast and Furious sequel, but people who look sketchy driving around during normal work hours or late at night get pulled over for minor violations?

Donald trump, his campaign staff, and their behavior during the campaign and transition was analogous to a bunch of guys driving a beat up car at 3am in a bad neighborhood with purple haze billowing out the cracked windows. Firing Comey was the lane change violation.

This conspiracy theory thing also fails to address the fact that it is his own justice department staffed by his appointees doing the investigation. It also ignores that Mueller has publicly discarded evidence damning to Trump. If this were all a big witch hunt to get the president, they wouldn’t be publicly acknowledging the falsity of portions of this dossier rubbish.
So now you've shifted your position from a crime needing to be committed to appearing sketchy.

Do you believe that appearing "sketchy" gives the government the right to pry into every aspect of your life? Even if they have that right, does that make it morally right? If so, we might as well live in Orwellian China.

It is also proven that Mueller has hired numerous Democrat lawyers on his team. I'm sure they wouldn't have any kind of reason to take down Trump.

Also, quit acting like firing Comey was a big red flag to anyone, because it simply isn't/wasn't. Remember that Rod Rosenstein oversees the Mueller probe, not the FBI director (Comey at the time). If Trump really wanted to end the Russia probe, he would've fired RR or Mueller directly.

I keep hearing that because RR and Muell are R's, they would never be biased against Trump. This simply isn't true. Establishment Republicans want Trump removed from office as well.
Trump is slowing down the back door deals from these veteran politicians. That’s why they hate him. How does someone that makes $174k a year live in million dollar homes?

By hearing you mean reading nonsense websites right?

You do realize the men you are taking shots at have done more for this country then you right?

I think the dims will say they wrote a book or get paid to speak to other libtards. Definitely no shady lobbying, foundations, or foreign donations pouring in or anything like that. Far more republicans had successful careers before becoming politicians than dims so at least they have some sort of excuse for having something.

I have shifted nothing.

Trump apologists keep arguing that what’s happening to Donald Trump is somehow illegal. It’s not.

They want to argue he’s getting treated worse or more unfairly than any other suspected criminal because of some political bias. He’s not.

What’s happening in this case is directly analogous to the way law enforcement operates in every city and town in America. The reason that law enforcement is practiced that way is because the Republican Party has legislated broad power to the police, branded anyone who questioned invasive police tactics as not supporting law enforcement and being in favor of lawlessness, and (as recently as 2014 in Tennessee) run anti-retention campaigns against judicial appointees who they felt were insufficiently tough on crime.

None of this has anything to do with my personal opinion as to how things should be done and your efforts to make that the subject of discussion further illustrates your willingness to talk about things of which you clearly have no knowledge or understanding.

That may explain why the rest of your post is so uninformed. There was no Mueller investigation at the time Comey was fired. Mueller wasn’t appointed special counsel until week or so after Trump fired Comey and it was done in response to that firing, so obviously it was a red flag to someone. Prior to the appointment of the special counsel, the investigation was potentially, I guess, within the scope of the FBI.

With respect to Mueller’s alleged Democrat lawyers, Until there is some actual credible evidence of wrongdoing or bias by the office of special counsel that isn’t a bunch of wild Trumpist complaints about normal investigative practices, it sounds like a bunch of propaganda.

I just read the transcript of the interview. That's not what he said.

He said because of the " whole Russia thing." Then lost his mind when Sessions wouldn't run interference for him.

You can decide those facts don't evidence an intent by him to prevent an investigation. But you are either willingly blind or just plain stupid if you do.

Cohen has met with Mueller team for over 50 hours. I imagine the payments on the affairs might have taken 3 or 4 hours. So .....

Motive is clear and the willingness of many in Trump's orbit to cultivate contacts in Russia is also clear. The Trump Tower meeting took place on the premise of interfering in the election by the Russians. The Russians interference campaign is the conspiracy and taking the TT meeting is the furtherance of that conspiracy.
