TrumPutinGate

The reason they are "mainstream" is because they all parrot the establishment line.

Ok, find some respected unbiased organization of your choosing that monitors the accuracy of a media outlet's factual reporting that finds WaPo to be "garbage" and a regular purveyor of "fake news." Betcha you can't do it.

For anyone who's interested, here's a story on Greg Miller, author of the WaPo article, that discusses his use of anonymous sources.

I didn't realize it, but he's the guy that broke the Michael Flynn story that led to his resignation.

But I know, I know. Partisan hack who lies out the wazoo.

The discussion of anonymous sourcing starts at about 27:30. Very good discussion

That is ridiculous... and could only appear on Fox. Only a small detail of the dossier was "salacious" and the majority of it has been verified. The main focus of the dossier is that Russia did interfere in the 2016 Presidential election for the purpose of assisting the Trump campaign. That claim has been verified.

All evidence used to apply for a FISA warrant must be verified using the FBI's own Wood's procedures.

Comey's own testimony in 2017 called the dossier "salacious and unverified".

You need to start catching up on everything that is now public but not being reported on by the MSM.

I'm sure you know that's a misrepresentation of what he said. He wasn't referring to the dossier as a whole, just to the golden shower video allegation. Trump defenders love to do that... but casting doubt on one detail does not discredit everything else.

Nope. He indeed recited the quote I put near verbatim. I watched the damn interview. You heard what you wanted to hear! He doubled down on Cohen/Prague from the dossier as significant. Not proven and still denied by Cohen!

And the line you’re chest thumping on was in the article I linked idiot!

U Lose Again!
Then you are aware that Isikoff does not believe the Steele dossier has been discredited at all... to the contrary, he has laughed at such suggestions - as well as Trump using him as a means of defense.

If everything was on the up and up, why did Comey fail to notify senior congressional leadership of the existence of the FBI investigation into the Trump campaign until early 2017?

Watch the first 3 minutes of video below.

According to Comey the FBI made the decision to exclude the existence of the investigation in the quarterly briefings to senior congressional leadership "because of the sensitivity of the matter".

The primary reason for the quarterly briefings is to review sensitive investigations.

Just caught up on the last few hours of this thread. The Trumpers in here are completely on the defensive. Waiting for the first one to say, "you know, maybe Trump is more guilty and in more danger than I had previously thought."

Never happen. They've invested too much emotional capital to capitulate now, they are all ride or die at this point. When it all comes out in the was I suspect the forum to be pocked with "whataboutism" mental gymnastics to soothe their cognitive dissonance for months.

Yep, the political analogue of the sunk cost fallacy.

At the heart of the Trumpian conspiracy is the allegation that Obama ordered the FBI to investigate the Trump campaign.

"He used law enforcement to go after his opponents. Lock him up!" the redhats exclaim.

And then on live TV, Trump commits the same crime as Obama allegedly did, and none of them say a word about it.

Amazing.

You been living under a rock for the last half-century?

Every police agency does this. Every day. And has for a very long time.

Somebody starts buying substances that raise flag for meth, the police open an investigation into whether or not that person is making meth.

Driving home after last call, cops follow random cars to see if they make a mistake; pull them over to see if they smell alcohol.

Terry v. Ohio, the original stop and frisk Supreme Court Case originated with the officer observing suspicious behavior, patted the guys down and found a gun because they were about to commit a robbery. I don’t remember when the actual encounter took place but the Supreme Court decided the case in 1968.
I said along time ago mueller will convict everyone he can around trump and conclude there had to be some trump involvement. With indictments mueller has more latitude when looking for info.

The number falling out of lockstep will be one of the better barometers measuring the weakening of Trump.

There are several republican senators in states like CO that are up for reelection. Be interesting to see if they peel of like cheap paint.

Wake up bowl he’s a republican in label only. His track record with this investigation isn’t good.
Are you saying you will not trust and support the Mueller findings? Unless of course, he exonerates Trump. In which case, I'm sure it will be viewed as a thorough and definitive investigation.

I know how this works, he’ll write a finding with something akin to, “ I can’t prove it but I know trump was dirty with Russia”. Culmination of evidence of corruption around him.
As of 2012 trumps associations with Russians died out drastically, the dossier stated he had been made several offers and turned them all down. That can be seen elsewhere. He was getting ready for a run. Can’t see him jumping back into bed with Russians who were playing both sides against the middle.

Gee, who do we trust. Institutions that have been reporting facts for years, or a mentally unstable halfwit who secretes his emotions via twitter 15 times a day?
