I am just guessing, but it seems to me that these discussions are probably more along the lines of trying to negotiate a settlement that both parties can live with.

Auburn will learn the same lesson Clemson did if they fire Tuberville. Elite coaches aren't falling all over themselves trying to get a job at a barnyard school.

CLK is not an elite coach....if you think that then you have little knowledge about football. Pete Carrol is and elite...Nick Satan is an elite....CLK, no.

Upside... Potential... whatever you want to call the ability to be more than you are now, is why he was hired. It has inherent risk, but also the chance for greater reward because he is still largely an unknown.

Clemson should have waited on tuberville, before hiring dabo swinney--who will last about 2 years there and lose as many games as tommy bowden.

Terry Don Phillips as much as admitted that finances are a problem at Clemson. Swinney finishing strong gave him the inside track on the job because he'll work cheap initially.
