Bobby Petrino is working on a head coaching opportunity for himself; but if that doesn't happen, he could wind up w Tubs as OC!

That would be wild, and cincy gains an automatic 28 points a game next year if true.

I don't think they did. Tubberville had maybe one more year at Tech. He had just about worn his welcome out there. A lot of people thought he might get canned this year.

Tubberville was desperate for someone to hire him!

We don't want a coach to come who is leaving a bad situation,
we want one who truly wants and deserves the job.

Nah, just a general statement. I don't blame him. My brother went to school there and it's depressing. Out in the middle of nowhere of west Texas.

Yeah i'm from Dallas. Lubbock blows, unless you're an 18-22 year old who wants to go to a party school.

The ad said he didn't expect CBJ to be the coach next year before hand they obviously was just prepared.

WOW. I think Petrino has too much baggage to be head coach anywere right now.

I wonder if hes doing this because he saw the jobs the previous 2 coaches unded up getting after coaching there for 3 years.
But it is an odd move as most coaches would LEAVE Cincy to take the TT job, not sure many would do it the other way around though.

I am in a give the man a chance attitude right now, I will say I feel a whole lot better about this hire than the Doolander hire.

I think this speaks more to how bad of a job Texas Tech is. They should've never fired Leach. The only way you win out there is to run an odd system that allows the 8th best players out of Texas to consistently compete in the conference.

Good move for both. Texas Tech must have some real issues. Tubberville can do really well at Cincy and may get another shot at a big time football program down the road.

i agree with you there, i'm in the please impress me phase. just waiting to see how he recruits, it should tell us right away if he is as good as he thinks he is.

Great move for Cincy. I'm not sure Tuberville would or would not have been a good fit here, but it is a blockbuster for Cincy. Adding Petrino as OC might just work: you get access to his coaching genius without the administrative responsibilities that would scare off most schools.

Just to be humorous...brings another meaning to the term "cheek slappers".
