Tubs hired at Cincinnati to replace Jones

Cincinnati finally got tired of other programs stealing their coaches and went with a coach that nobody else would want .

I dont get the knock on Tubs, He did coach one of the best College football teams of all time, IMO.

Let's be realistic about this, when Tommy Tubervile got a call from Whit Babcock asking him to be the head coach an Cincinnati, he felt exactly like Andy Dufresne felt in The Shawshank Redemption when he got out the other end of that sewer pipe

FREEDOM !!!

The best way to see Lubbock Tx is from your rearview mirror, he was just waiting for that phone to ring, he took the first offer that got him out of there.

Bingo. They did exactly what they needed to do. Get a washed up big name coach who can dominate the Big East. They're hoping it helps in conference realignment. (Big name + shows commitment to athletics).

He's on the tail end of his career.

JMO but the word shady comes to mind when his name is called..Just a few examples:

While at Mississippi Tuberville made the statement, "They’ll have to carry me out of here in a pine box," in reference to not leaving to coach at another school. Two days after he made that statement, it was announced that he was departing for Auburn.

Earlier this year Tuberville and John Stroud, partners in investment firm TS Capital Partners LLC, were sued by seven plaintiffs in United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama for alleged failure to file tax returns and for falsifying documents and co-mingling investors' funds during Tuberville's time at Auburn University.

On November 10, 2012, during a game against the Kansas Jayhawks, Tuberville became involved in a dispute with graduate assistant Kevin Oliver..He was caught on camera knocking off both Oliver's hat and his headset.

These are incidents made public during his career..But his willingness to look Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt in the eye 2 days ago during a Saturday morning meeting and give his "commitment and dedication to Texas Tech football and to leading the program forward", as well as the details of his Ole Miss departure, leave me with a snake oil salesman perception of the guy..

JMHO

I don't know why, but i have never thought much of TT as a coach and I have a strong feeling that Cincinnati will slide backwards during his tenure there. I just don't think he is a good enough coach to keep Cincinnati winning.
