I didn't see it coming either but after the slap incident I'm sure the athletic department put him on tite leash.

why would tubs want petrino? he's a good football coach but didnt petrino try to take his job while he was at aub and petrino was at UL ?

Was that at Louisville or was it back in 2002 while he was the OC at Auburn?

Still, yeah, I can't imagine there wouldn't be any bad blood between the two over that still...or at least, enough is still there to keep them from being able to work together

They could at least get together for a beer to laugh at what Auburn ended up with as a head coach.

Who would u have gotten? I'd like to hear some of your infinite wisdom..

Are you THAT dense? Let me break it down for you in a way you can hopefully understand....

Tennessee took over two weeks to hire a guy that by all accounts was pretty far down the list.....

Cincinnati took two DAYS to hire a proven winner.....

Not bashing Jones....

Not a huge Dave Hart fan....

Get it now? Sheesh... When you also have trouble following the next Dukes of Hazzard rerun give me a holla...

It was while BP was at Louisville... Bobby Lowder (huge Auburn booster at the time...) hopped on a private jet to go get Petrino (while TT was still Auburn's coach...) on the sly but somehow or another the plan got exposed and it was a big stink.... Auburn, IIRC went undefeated the next year....

Ok I'll go tell our AD that.

Why do you have a UT avatar and name since you are a Bearcat? Why not show your colors and be proud of being a Bearcat and then some level of UT sidewalk fan? You are a B Cat wearing a Coon dog covering IMO.

Yeah, they probably reprimanded Tubs--and he said--"I'll show you". lol.

Cincy is on the way to bigger things; conference wise--just watch.

Yeh , given their locale and the downturn of PennSt , Cincy is just a dormant volcano waiting on the right coach. If BK had stayed there, it would be rolling.

So Cincy ends up with a better coach than Tennessee after all this?

Nice.

I just do not see that. If Tubbs was that good don't you think another SEC team would of contacted him. Kentucky didnt even call him. Ole Miss didn't call him when they hired Hugh Freeze. I really think we have found a good coach. The more i read about Butch Jones the more i think he is a good fit for UT.

Grad school at UC. Tennessee fan. Guess I'm not as true of a fan as you.

If you know any history of his career, then you would know that Ole Miss would shut down the football program before they ever called him
