Turkey: Our NATO Ally

Obama backing the Muslim regim. Westernized military backing be damned.

This is very sad & alarming.

I've never seen or heard such a dumb ass President as this one. Be so glad when this first & last black President is finally gone. Such an embarrassment to this Nation.

I'm still holding out hope the military rallies. We're only seeing two cities, Turkey is a huge nation let's see how the rest responds.

I think the southeastern portion is in a wait and see moment. Especially since that's a largely Kurd area.

Both liberal and conservative sides are now demonizing Erdogan, and rightfully so...

Regime change...

The other thing about this is the "why" of it all. Who's running the show for the military and why do they think this is the only option.

I be horrified to see it happen but I often wonder how a coup would unfold here in the States.

I'd like to think the military or at least the majority are Patriots and are mostly conservative. The liberals especially Barry have taken such an anti-police stance I doubt they would find many friends there. I'd never really fear a coup from the left since most of them are limp wristed pansies.

He has slowly eroded the power and influence of the military over the years. Also I can't confirm it but I saw where he was going to replace the leadership sometime later this year, perhaps they felt it was now or never?

Also seeing reports of an unconfirmed explosion at the same airport the President is supposed to land at.

Talking practically. Would the seek the cooperation from the local DC Police and DC National Guard? How does one put into motion a coup?

Saving their own skin isn't a real good reason to launch a coup. You want the support of the people, you have to appeal to their gripes and complaints.

Yet sometimes the people honestly doesn't know what's good for them sometimes. As evidence as people are backing the regime.

It would take the military to launch a coup. They're the only ones with the level of organization and manpower to achieve it. If private citizenry organized to any degree, the FBI, NSA, etc. would get it shut down quick.

Trump wants to tweet, but his advisors are having to spend a lot of time trying to convince him that Turkey is a real country and is not located between Stuffing and Mashed Potatoes.

Hilary wanted to but she lost the email her political consultant sent her. It's on wiki leaks now.

They are. Especially when it comes to what I call non noners..aka the people who actually do stuff..

Special Forces/Operations is a good example, not a lot of "obama voters" in those groups..

President Erdogan says Turkey uprising is an act of treason, and those responsible will pay a heavy price

Just paints the picture that the coup leaders are the good guy in this.

Anyone with foresight who believes in democratically elected governments would be in support of this coup

Best response for Obama would have been wit and see until tomorrow. But he chose to back the current regime. Wait and see I guess.
