Enslavement doesn't become "agency" because you say they learned something lol, this is essentially the question version of the "this is technically true" devil's advocacy
Florida's new Black history curriculum says "slaves developed skills" that could be used for "personal benefit"
I've never been more embarrassed to be a Floridian. Honestly, this Legislatures, kowtowing to the extreme white resentment class, makes the state look positively azz backward.
If they hadn't been born into slavery they would have acquired life skills otherwise. It's putting lipstick on a pig to say that slavery helped prepare them for the job market.Technically this is true. They learned skills that allowed them to become farmers/farm hands once they were freed. That worked out pretty well right up until the early 1960's when almost overnight they were replaced in the fields by Hispanics. Not sure what happened in the 60's to make so many people stop working..
Did they talk about slaves and modern athletic ability? Just curious...
There are different nations in Africa, with their own languages, beliefs, and customs, like there are in Europe, Asia and the Americas. If the Danes sold some Poles to the Turks, would you say their own people sold them?Last I heard they prefer to be called “African American“. If Africans (black people) sold them then it was absolutely their own people who sold them. Its really not debatable.

Sorry if facts get in the way of what you want to be true. You might as well say that it was their own people since we're all human.Black people sold black people as slaves in Africa. It’s not nearly as complicated as you want to make it out to be. The excuses you’re attempting to make are irrelevant.
