Per Austin Price - Tennessee "would love to land" this kid.

Said he talked to Walt Wells, who played against him and Wells said Zappe had moxie, was really impressive, did some trash talking. Said he should be a P5 quarterback.

We no doubt have great needs on this team, but another QB is not one. Develop what we have, unless this guy can play edge.

At the quarterback position we mentioned Houston Baptist quarterback Bailey Zappe this week. Zappe’s story is definitely interesting and his production is eye opening as they throw it all the time. So we will see what develops with him if anything in the coming weeks.

Uhhh... our biggest need is QB.

I mean really, we have a decent 3 deep qb in HB, Shrout, and Salter. The last Transfer QB we took was that kid from Stanford and I think probably would have been a better qb than this idk maybe not but still, we need other needs I think , like DLineman....I know that we got great recruits at that position but so young . Just would hate to see a offer go to waste. Also maybe another great pass rusher and some DBs that can defend a slant lol Pretty good run defense this year , honestly maybe better than good but with no great pass rush and then dbs that can’t defend the slant has killed us . We got talent tho but still young need that competition.

Plenty of good/great college QBs never make in the NFL. No offense to any player, but I'm more concerned about his immediate success at the college level (Tennessee) as opposed to the NFL...

It will honestly be very telling if Pruitt decides to bring in a transfer QB this cycle, knowing his job is on the line next year. Either he truly has faith in what we have on the roster, or it will be another really long year and a coaching search for 2022.

There is a real possibility that we only have two scholarship QB’s on the roster next year. I think it’s a must to take a transfer QB.
