I agree. I believe he and Chaney are planning on a big year out of this offense and JG will leave early and get drafted. As @Nashvegas31 pointed out, he's got all the tools just need better OL play and coaching. He should get those this fall. Look what Chaney did with Crompton and Bray. I believe Chaney is going to make JG into a 3-5 round draft pick.

He definitely needs to work in this. Part of this comes with someone teaching him that. He lost two years of coaching under Butch. Last yr was first yr here he actually had a QB coach and it was obvious he made strides.

One reason JG might leave (even if just to grad transfer) after this year is that all of his top WR and TE targets will be gone. Jennings, Calloway, and DWA definitely, and if Josh Palmer breaks out he’ll go pro as well.

There have been enough statements about JG either going pro or that he's already graduated and could transfer to lead me to believe that he intends to leave one way or the other. He's been through a lot and I hope he has a good enough season to be considered for the NFL draft.

Why would he transfer? Most SR QBs transfer bc it’s their last year and they want to play, G is already the starter.

The good news is even if King picks A&M we still get to argue over taking a 2nd QB!

Chances are HB is less inclined to look around with JoeBlow 3 star QB than a guy at his own talent level, perhaps better talent level. Easier spin for coaching staff as they can pin 3 star as “depth” to HB and even to the 3 star whose other options are lower level schools.

I somewhat disagree. Agree on more passes but believe it will consist of plays that have to mask OL play, possible continuing lack of receiver speed and JG's weaker areas. All combined, quite an intricate task.
No offense, but I think your bias against Chaney is causing you to oversimplify, resulting in diminishing the accomplishment that it would actually be.

If he pulls this off, I think he's earned way more credit than "just call more pass plays".

Do you honestly think he goes anywhere? Why would Pruitt and Co put possibly three guys out the door just to get one more QB... of Bailey walks then you lose Gilbert and BJ for sure.

I agree with our resident UGA poster, if JG has a big year he's either going pro or coming back to make a championship run in 2020.
