'20 TX QB Haynes King (TAMU Commit)

Why would he transfer? Most SR QBs transfer bc it’s their last year and they want to play, G is already the starter.
I thought it was assumed he would transfer if he had a bad year because he would feel threatened by Bailey being the QB this coaching staff picked and just to get a fresh start.

The only people that believe JG isn't a good QB are on this site. Everything I've seen has had good things to say about JG and how bad our line is. So of course everyone else has to be wrong. No way the Volnation qb gurus could be.
No, Bigboi doesn’t think he’s good either and how Polite it was to put a “tone setting” hit on him and he’s not on this site. Oh wait, he’s probably on this site lurking like deja vu. You’re right. 😏

Didn't Wilson leave State due to O'Brien trying to prohibit him from playing summer baseball?

I agree with our resident UGA poster, if JG has a big year he's either going pro or coming back to make a championship run in 2020.

I didn't know about the prohibition with baseball. Thanks for the info and for not being mean-spirited for those of us are not as informed as others.

After four years under Cut. Chaney does the same in less than one with JG and he’s the new sheriff. 😎

It's happened here before, with a QB who had much steeper of a climb.

VQ podcast just dropped. No Austin Price as they said he's on 'assignment'.

Any chance AP is with a recruit doing a commitment story of somebody popping soon?

I'd imagine the podcast was recorded yesterday or this morning.

Perroni latest...

King and his family are about to head out from Longview to Frisco for the Elite 11 check-in.

Nothing has been decided yet and it seems unlikely anything will happen today. It is not a guarantee, but that is the line of thinking among those closest to the four-star QB.

It will be interesting to see 1. if King chooses to do interviews at the Elite 11 and 2. what he says should he do them.

This is more an assumption on my part, but I would not imagine he would make a commitment during the event. The quarterbacks take this very, very seriously. They were long ago sent all kinds of playbooks and other materials and have some very big-name coaches come work with them. There is a ton of classroom stuff in addition to the on-field action.

So, as of now, it looks like we are still in a holding pattern as he wrestles with his decision.

I somewhat disagree. Agree on more passes but believe it will consist of plays that have to mask OL play, possible continuing lack of receiver speed and JG's weaker areas. All combined, quite an intricate task.
No offense, but I think your bias against Chaney is causing you to oversimplify, resulting in diminishing the accomplishment that it would actually be.

If he pulls this off, I think he's earned way more credit than "just call more pass plays".
Exactly.
Everything was new to everybody last year. The staff didn't know who was capable until they got some live action. The players were still sifting threw a new play book. Some are buying in, some are not. Lot of moving pieces especially early. Im sure Pruitt started out trying not to beat himself until he knew what he could or couldn't do with that roster.

The OL last year was just good enough to have your QB in a sling and watching.

And yes, if Chaney gets it on the tracks it will be a lot more than just what plays he is or isn't calling. Thats just a part of it.

Do you honestly think he goes anywhere? Why would Pruitt and Co put possibly three guys out the door just to get one more QB... of Bailey walks then you lose Gilbert and BJ for sure.
Do I think he decommits? No

But.....this exact scenario just played out at one of our biggest rivals Fla, just in the last 3 months.

Anthony Richardson was/is the #8 DT QB in this class, committed to Fla and was close to other commits and targets for UF, he was recruiting for Fla as the leader, 100% locked in. They went after a bigger prospect, AR gets his feelings hurt, AR decommits, and the guy UF fell in love with and went after, committed elsewhere.

Price on 104.5 saying his dad being able to drive to his games is very important at A&M, but the relationship with Chaney and Weinke has prevented him from pulling the trigger with A&M and he wants to be developed by them. No decision made yet.
Why not move?
