'20 TX RB Zachary Evans

I'm dumping Dish. The NBC thing, it happens with a channel or two every few months. I'm probably going to stream YouTube TV or another. Also, their prices have really gotten up there. I can stream for 1/3 of what I pay Dish.
I use YouTube TV most of the year. Have to switch to Direct TV's streaming service (they change the damn name like every 3 months) during baseball season, as of this season it was the only streaming service that carried Bally sports. It is about 20 bucks more but I gotta watch the Braves.

Imo NIL should be where kids are paid for jersey sales and perhaps a school fund from the ticket sales, tv revenue etc where it’s divided out among roster. Where kids get a cut from what schools are making off their NIL. Not so much the under table money grabs which can be really bad for a locker room. See Memphis Basketball right now.

This is so true. I came so close to dumping YTTV once they dropped Sinclair. I can't not watch the Braves and Preds and I am fortunate to have a mother-in-law who provided me with her Xfinity login to watch on the Bally app. YTTV used to be $35 a month 3yrs ago and now it's close to $70. I suggest splitting it with someone as it has been a rare case that over 3 streams were being watched simultaneously for me.

Just get him to Knoxville and the NIL will come.

See that's the thing and I say this without any silliness, kids are asking this up-front. Also in our meeting the 2 coaches asked this 1st as they were trying to guage what they were up against. When Zach named off like 9 Golesh with a facial expression was like damn. Its not us but something that has to be figured out on the university and athletic department. In my opinion the issue is with all the turn over donors and companies have become tired of the constant in and out of coaches. So there needs to be a meeting of the powers that be in order to get the ball rolling because all it takes is ONE and then the rest will fall in place.

It's more than that though. There are only so many donors willing to shell out big bucks, and there is a reason you don't see schools with sustained elite success across multiple sports year in and year out. A lot of the money used for these recruits goes to a single sport or 2 or else it is spread to thin and doesn't really matter for any of the sports. Well, a lot of donors forked over funds to make sure Vitello stayed and Rick Barnes is recruiting at a very high level also. There just aren't unlimited funds to make them all great. If those resources go to football another sport will suffer. I think getting the ball rolling has more to do with trying to figure out how to sustain what Barnes and Vitello are doing and prefering to pay for proven success than pay for just the latest football coach. It's why teams are labeled a "football school" or "basketball school".

should be performance based not because of who you are and these have not played a down for us. Stars make NIL understood but performance should be the factor of NIL funds. Everybody talks a good game but let us see a good game. If recruiting comes down to NIL only take it somewhere else.

Understand this however if it is ALL about money, they will transfer to the next school with a higher offer the next year. Someone is going to spend money to get them there with no loyalty. The real money needs to go to the great athletes already on the roster. Are teams having to pay "agents" to make sure the player gets & stays there? Sounds like a cycle that could end badly for both sides. Any suggestions on how this could be handled better?

who else is going for Evans? I can’t imagine Ole Miss has an enormous NIL program/support. TCU and other Tx schools have some ridiculous donors I’m sure

This^
There’s money here, we know because Pruitt was paying players well.
They are just behind in figuring out how to put that money into NIL deals. But they need to fast!

Google IPTV and figure out how to set it up on a firestick. YeahIPTV is a good one. It's $12 a month for damn near every channel on earth... the legality however is gray at best.

Yes, that's it, that's the only reason. That is what separates us from them.
Not sure where you're attempting to go with this. I was referring solely to self made, successful people and their philosphy when it comes to their money. I wasn't saying others didn't think like this nor was I trying to seperate and classify people......

I think Leby should do it. He could leave for Norman...... tonight..... around midnight..

Yea, I like the sound of that..... 😎

Of course, Ole Miss will come back to Earth next season and never be this good again...because that's how Tennessee scheduling works.

But expect LSU and Pitt to both be national title contenders next year.

Uh.... Well I spent a good amount of time telling all the Pitt fans at the ACC tithe game Saturday night that we were gonna curb stomp them next year... So that doesn't work for me.

Honestly, if it comes down to who can pay the most, I'd tell him to piss off, which probably is why I'd lose as a coach. Well, maybe not in those words. I'd sell him on the opportunities here, but this sort of situation screams trouble. It's one thing in the NFL, where there's a clear demarcation line of this being a business and you get paid solely to do your job.

I'm perfectly happy with kids getting paid in an environment where other people are doing so at a high rate. It's merely the motivations of a kid to come play for you. If it's "Well, I like the other school, but I'm going here because I can get 9 deals here and only 5 there.", then I'd rather not. In the end, he has to play ball and I prefer guys who want to play ball here.

Evans is a talent, no doubt. I hope he comes to Knoxville. But, if his #1 question is about money, then pass.
