Well said. There will be other RBs in the portal after spring. Surely one of them would be smart enough to want to play in this offense.Evans is a great talent, also probably not a convict or team cancer but we can still change our minds on that one. I’m all for landing him BUT we’re late in the recruiting cycle and it seems he’s playing games that we don’t have time for. I would focus my effort elsewhere unless they think they can truly land him high percentage. Just too late to be playing this BS, he knows what we have to offer if he wants to be here he will put forth some effort otherwise let him go
I can tell you that’s not true for sure. The same people “advise” kids year after year, they don’t get to do that for long if they steer kids the wrong way all the time. A lot of kids and parents have no idea how to handle the recruiting process.Handlers don’t care as long as they get their cut of the funds on the front end
Soft spot. Either way they make a lot of money off of the kids.I can tell you that’s not true for sure. Nope. Everyone has there opinions and none of us know the real story,When we really get serious about competing for SEC titles again, we will get guys like this. We aren't there yet, everyone is not moving in the same direction IMO. Otherwise this would be a done deal by now, JMO.
Kirby and Nick knows a little about recruiting. And it’s not using McDonald’s bagsNope. Everyone has there opinions and none of us know the real story,
But this ain’t the usual recruit stuff with this guy.
It’s a repeat of last year’s bizarre journey to wind up at TCU.
He was supposedly UGA bound and it fell through.
People saying Kirby screwed it up.
You can question his coaching, but he has the recruiting figured out just like ole Nick, and unlikely messed up on this 1 recruit.
Investigation is an issue. Not the negative recruiting part of it either. It’s stopping some from “pulling in the right direction”.When we really get serious about competing for SEC titles again, we will get guys like this. Agreed and I'm beginning to lean toward the side that says we should just let him walk. When we really get serious about competing for SEC titles again, we will get guys like this. We aren't there yet, everyone is not moving in the same direction IMO. Otherwise this would be a done deal by now, JMO.
How much is this NIL going to hurt Team-First culture?Agreed and I'm beginning to lean toward the side that says we should just let him walk.
Yes, we'll need guys with his kind of ability to win the SEC and that IS the goal, but let's not forget that Heupel's most challenging task is to establish a TEAM-FIRST culture. That's the foundation that winning is built upon. Heupel is trying to build a culture where the guys on our team feel genuine love from one another, and that was a request that the TEAM made to Danny White when he began the search for a new HC. And it's working. Our guys played looser in 2021 than they have in a long time and the results speak for themselves. I've never been happier to see players having fun in my life. But we are still early in the rebuild... it's still year 1. Are we ready to test the culture being built with someone who knows they will only be here for 1 year then it's off to the NFL? Someone that Georgia, for whatever reason, decided NOT to sign out of HS?
I'm not going to pretend to know Zach Evans, but I think it's fair to question; is he the kind of guy who would fit into our culture, or is he the kind of guy who would tear it down if you let him?
I don’t think he’s a malcontent or anything. He’s a one and done also. So I doubt he’s going to be a problem.Agreed and I'm beginning to lean toward the side that says we should just let him walk.

That’s a good question and one I’ve been wondering. You can have some great talent and a terrible locker room if you have kids with stupid money. How much is this NIL going to hurt Team-First culture?
The jealousy factor will be hard to keep out. The have and the have notsThat’s a good question and one I’ve been wondering. You can have some great talent and a terrible locker room if you have kids with stupid money.
Imagine what an idiot most were in college then add more money than they’ve ever seen before to the equation. Should be interesting.
