'19 TX WR Isaiah Neyor

I mean if the dude really wanted to be at UT he be here already!I could only imagine applying for a job, getting said job,and on my way to work call my new boss like "So I accepted ur job, couple others came along on the ride over,if I don't like what tney offer,I'll def come in next week"Umm yea rite F*k off is what I tell ya.Just a bad way to handle the situation, maybe kid jumped the gun u never know, but he's skirted the issue and never veen forthright as far as I can tell.At this stage I wouldn't waste much time,if this was Bama they tossed him to the curb.Unfortunately we don't have that luxury, but if we could afford to lose a wr,especially one as flakey as Neyor.

Trust me, Bass has been the messenger enough times to know not to shoot the messenger.
Trust me, I have read more than enough posts of Bass here and TOS to know what he brings and we all fail in our message from time to time.

Reading through these posts I am amazed at the number of posters that cannot wait for these coaches to fail because you declared them failures from the beginning. Some are so angry at how Pruitt was fired, you want the whole AD to crash. Some really have a hard time grasping that you lose more times than you win in recruiting. And some of you need to let go of the idea that we’re going to be competing with AL and GA anytime soon.... We did so well with so little that our coach won an award! Finished top 15 in recruiting! And all you experts with all your football knowledge told us it could not be done.
No one wants the coaches to fail at all. In fact, these are the first coaches in a while who showed positive development. But it’s not wrong to say that they are lacking in recruiting other than our two proven SEC coaches. They just need to improve recruiting immensely to compete the way Tennessee should. But everyone should be thrilled with how this season went and the improvement on the field. I hope we win 8-12 games a year for the next ten years with JH and have some stability. You can still point out some flaws with this staff but still hope for the very best.

Georgia and Bama didn’t prove anything? Florida will finish strong with transfers and with remaining high school recruits and they beat us every year. Those are the teams I compare to.
Go be a Gator fan. I mean you have confidence in them but mock any confidence in UT's staff.

UT currently has a full roster or pretty close. The players they pursue in the portal have to a) be needs and b) be better than what they think they have on the roster both talent and culture wise. Neyor appears to be one of those guys. But when a guy has his talent... you won't be alone in chasing him. He obviously liked the coaches and their pitch or he wouldn't have said he was coming to UT. But he needs to be certain and UT's staff probably wants him to be certain. Texas is home. That may pull him over. But you win by being in play with guys like this. Ultimately you win some of them.

Or if you prefer the short version... be patient and stop being such a drama queen.

Lol. I can only laugh at this post. Show me where I mock them or don’t want them to be successful? Lord have mercy this board.

Not career suicide, but a bad decision, nonetheless. And I’m not just being a homer.
Of Heupel, Riley, Kiffin, and Sark, Sark would be the worst choice by a decent margin.
You have to weigh the opportunity of having family go to games and being nearby as well.

Just seems like some can only see the flaws. There will always be flaws and things to be concerned about. But there are some that get a little giddy whenever anything bad happens.

This season was one of the most fun seasons in a long time. Finally had something to believe in.

Yeah. I refuse to freak out about recruiting anymore when it’s a total revolving door of players. I enjoyed watching this team. They went all out. If it didn’t work, they picked themselves up and went all out again. Finally have a coach I like after Lane, Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt. 😫 It won’t be easy but hopefully we can redo the 80s then the 90s.

So you named the 2 schools in the CFCG. Was that all you were inferring about when you said all of these schools we played got better? As for Florida, you are guessing how things will play out for them. They just came off a losing season and hired a coach who may or may not make it on this level. Last I checked they finished 40th in recruiting and it's anybodies guess who ends up where with this transfer nonsense seeing as though another wave of players will be available in the spring. So back to my original statement, you are talking out of your backside.

It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$. You guys' act like you never heard of it. Recruiting is a cutthroat game that's played in the mud. Tennessee is not gonna get in the mud because of the pending NCAA violations. The current state of Tennessee NIL rules are simple-----athletes will only be paid "fair market value" for their NIL deals. Texas does not have that restriction-----see the ATM recruiting class---we can't compete with that under the current NIL rules for the state of Tennessee.
Why would I, as a retiree middle class person struggling with an inflationary economy, who has supported this program over a lifetime care about a semi-pro privileged athlete getting his “fair market value?” Are athletic departments really worth the investment now? In my opinion that question is becoming more and more of a priority.
