Tyler Summitt and Mickie Demoss should be here next season

One would have hoped that as someone older and wiser, Mickie might have provided deterring counsel. For this situation to occur with a player that came with him from Marquette speaks to poor judgment of longstanding duration.

Tyler Summitt's coaching career is OVER. This is not like a recruiting violation or somesuch; short of a criminal act, this is the worst thing the coach of a women's team could do. The next job he gets will be one that someone fond of his mother will offer him--and it won't be in basketball.

If he ever coaches again, it will probably be a men's team, and not at the collegiate level. Based on the fact that the player followed him from Marquette, I'm pretty sure this had gone on for years.

Tyler really doesn't have any excuse. He's been around the game his whole life. He knew better than this. Guy got one of the best jobs in women's college basketball because of his last name and blew it.

Feel badly for his family.... his mom his wife.... his father and him.....

And of course the young lady..... her most of all.... God Bless them all

Yes, I agree. In time, he could eventually end up as an assistant coach on a men's team, but I still wonder about that as well. With the sexual harassment lawsuit looming over UTK, we sure didn't need this to add to it. I know that this wasn't at UTK, but his mom coached the LVs and he was a student athlete on the men's basketball team. The yellow journalism press may have a bit of a field day with this one.

Sadly, when they commit such indiscretions, it will not get mentioned due to professional courtesy. Only when it can't be covered up, like for Peter Jennings.

From the news, it looks like Tyler is going to be a father, but not by his wife.

Looks like he may have gotten one of his player pregnant.

Yep! Other's were busy coaching and winning games, he was busy cheating and ****ing, never thought of giving his mom bad name, quoting Bible every 2 seconds.

No excuse at all, just Blew the opportunity.

Why should he get an opportunity over a deserving assistant coaching position candidate who doesn't have this colossal f*** up on his resume?

He was not the most qualified for the La Tech in the 1st place. I sort of knew that this would not end well. Didn't expect this train wreck ending.

you guys are here talking about Tyler visiting here next year. While he has just stepped down as La Tech head coach due to inappropriate relationship between him and someone I don't know.. My prayers goes to that young guy, he about to close his own door.

No prayers for the young lady?

her most of all ? Everyone's seen this story time after time.Girls spread their legs and want it just as much if not more than the guys. But the second they don't get the guy , boom the guy is destroyed. I'll bet this girl has had sex for 6-7 years from the age of 15/16 and was just a poor victim . B.S. she screwed the coach .Tyler Ruint his career over this. I feel sorry for him!

Why would you feel badly for the player? They are both guilty as sin and I have no sympathy for either of them.

This. They are both huge idiots. Who could possibly feel sorry for him, a person of authority in this situation and a married man? He's achieved new lows with this one.

Sin.....Adultery....whatever you want to call it can sometimes be weathered IF between 2 Adults. When a Coach, A Teacher, etc. has a "relationship" with a student.....stick a fork in them.
Tylers father-in-law is a lawyer. The student is pregnant.
Rock and Hard Place!!! :hi:

Head coach is a leadership position: you don't, under any circumstances, mess around with a player. Summitt should never have had the job in the first place--he was far too young and not qualified for the job.

What is "ruint"? Do you mean 'ruined'--which is a real word?

Oh get with the times. It's in the Urban Dictionary as a more flamboyant way of saying everything got foobarred. It probably was around back in Anglo-Saxon England too, where it still seems many ideas of how to behave come from, as in some old-time thane saying, "Those Viking raiders ruint my land by impregnating all my womenfolk, and as temporary authority figures they have also ruint forever my opinion of them as men."

Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to this.

Just another needle - It's FUBAR not foobarred. It's a military acronym from WWII. The more politically correct version means Fouled Up Beyond All Repair (or sometimes recognition). The original was more profane.
