Just to clarify one point. I did leave out a word by accident in my last paragraph that changes the meaning of what I meant to communicate. I think Tyler deserves to be fired and deserves to have his career as a WCBB coach go up in flames. You don't go around sleeping with the players on the team, period. That's about the worse thing you can do as a coach, and he doesn't deserve a second chance as far as that is concerned. His short career and lack of success will be barriers to programs taking a chance on him. Ironically, if it was Geno, I can see schools forgiving him because he is a winner. Nonetheless, I strongly believe that coaches who do this sort of stuff should be finished.
As far as the use of the term "victim", we don't know the nature of their relationship. Once the facts come out, then we will know more. But she should not automatically be assumed to be a victim. If she was pursued by Tyler and forced to give him sexual favors or else he was going to ruin her career...then yes. But not if she was the one who pursued him while he was an assistant at Marquette and then followed her boyfriend to LA Tech when he got his new job, either because she was an opportunist or just wanted to continue the relationship. In either case, Tyler deserves to be fired and blacklisted. But in only one of those scenarios is the player a "victim".
Just a sad, sad story to taint his mothers legacy by following in his fathers footsteps. Especially as she lives out her life in the fog of dementia, SMH.
Tyler is forever tied to this university, another black eye. Good lord can this sports community ever catch a break.
My recommendations to that young man is to try and correct the wrongs with your wife.
Take care of this young lady who is apparently with child.
Once those things are set on the right course move to Europe for ten years.
I have respect for a man who totally owns up to his mistakes, doesn't blame others or circumstances, and takes responsibility that includes real penalty. Tyler did that and I give him credit for it. Not many in this day and age are capable of doing all three.
There's no victim in this scenario. Two consenting adults exhibited incredibly poor judgment. He chose to have an affair with a player. She chose to have sex with a guy she knew was married. There was no pressure involved. She initiated a transfer to follow him. He allowed her to transfer and play for La Tech. She didn't have to play for him, and she didn't have to have sex with him. He didn't have to have sex with her. She certainly didn't have to get pregnant, if that rumor is true. There are too many precautions, available no-questions-asked in free clinics.
Actions have consequences. But no victims. Not here.

I like you post, but just want to make one point regarding the last paragraph - this is not a scenario in which she just got in a car and followed her boyfriend to a new location with or without his knowledge or consent - this required him to arrange a scholarship for her to the school something on the order of $50,000 per year (of someone else money, in fact LA taxpayers money.)
While he was with mens bball team my niece was working in ticket office. She said Tyler asked her out. At the time me and my dad (her grandfather) teased her you should take him up on it and become a Summitt. Turns out she was smarter than we were as apparently being his significant other isnt exclusive.

True, Bruin. But there are assumptions in your scenario as well. There are probably only a few people who know the real story.
I don't have a scenario. The only thing I know is a coach had a relationship with a player.
It' doesn't matter to me when it started or how or by whom. The coach is 100% wrong and should never be trusted with females again under his authority
The girl is a victim because a person of authority over her either didn't halt her advances or iniated them. Either way the coach is wrong and should have set an atmosphere where the subordinate he was in trusted to protect was taken care of
Consent concerning a person of authority is far from a clear cut thing
