UConn discussion (merged)

There were two things that caused us to lose that game, Lexi Brown got hot and we just did not have an answer on offense. A third thing we started looking like Dow Deers looking into head lights.

I actually thought that they played with composure from beginning to end, but just couldn't get the shots to fall. Not like the Louisville game and last year's MD S16 game where they truly looked like they were afraid to compete.

It would have to be a miracle, an Irish miracle, and miracles do happen, Louisville versus Griner's Baylor Bears.

Louisville's miracle got a huge assist from the zebras. I'm not the biggest Baylor or Mulkey fan but UofL beat the sh*t out of Griner all night long in that game.

I thought Baylor in that game got their fair share of refereeing breaks..... as game wound down and Jeff W called for technical for arguing a call..... Kim M went ballistic with no technical call at all..... I was amazed.... then with a few seconds left, Odyssey S drove to the basket and got foul call on that where there was no contact...... This is just my view of it, yes, but I thought Kim was crazy in overtly calling out refs in post game presser.....

No question, though, Louisville played rough game. They always have.

Why is this board so focused on UCONN? I hardly EVER see "Tennessee Chats" on the Boneyard. Jealous much? Geeez

Didn't one of your fellow boneyarders just start a thread b!tching about why there was no thread about the UConn vs. Texas game?

Since Tennessee is out and there are only so many "Fire Holly" threads that one can start, it does seem natural on a message board to discuss how we think this weekend's FF games will go.

But on to more important things...what the h3ll are you doing here? Do you really need to seek validation for UConn? You guys are doing well enough that it's not necessary to constantly check what the Tennessee fans have to say about your team.

Seriously...insecure much?

But just in case you're lost and need directions home...please use the following link: UConn Women's Basketball | The Boneyard

Their athletic director is quoted in the AP as saying if Indiana doesn't change their anti-gay law they just passed they will not attend the Final Four next year in Indiana.

Well that's one way not to lose to them.

They don't say that very frequently. Here are the stats.

Maryland - 725 free throws attempted this year.
Notre Dame - 777
USCe - 776
UConn - 580

Don't confuse the issue with facts. My pappy used to say everyone has a right to their opinion but not to their facts.

So you go to both the UConn board and the volnation board and then you get concerned that we are obsessed with other teams. Think about that for just a moment.

Huge mistake for the AD to say anything at all.

Then you are surely going to love this from your fav coach,

"How small-minded do you have to be to care this much about how other people live their lives?" Auriemma said. "Life is hard enough. Why do you care what other people are doing, as long as it doesn't affect you?

"Hiding behind this religious crap is the most cowardly thing I've ever heard. I don't know all the details ... but it's 2015."

He may be a turd but he says it how he sees it

I agree - I thought the first half the refs allowed everything and then half way through the second half when Baylor finally decided to 'fight back' they got away with mugging while suddenly Louisville was being called for a lot of touch fouls. All in all I thought it was a terribly officiated game that Louisville probably benefitted from more than Baylor, but that Baylor lost the game because they had no plan B and were passive for most of the game - Kim would have done better to coach her team rather than rant at the officials for the first 30 minutes!

There are a TON of TN chats on the Boneyard, too, btw. They talk more about UT than we talk about them for sure! That child don't know what he is talking about!

This quote is one of the reasons why I don't believe that whole "lesbo factory" rumor. Not to mention he's surely had his share of "lesbos" come through his program over the years.

What is sad is Connecticut is one of the 19 states that already has the same law, and they are criticize Indiana.??

I believe CT's version does not allow for discrimination compared to how the Indiana interpretation is. Not to mention their governor has put a ban on non-essential government travel to Indiana, so I don't think it's anywhere near the same thing.

I believe in religious rights as well...assuming that it's all religions and not just Christians.

I believe my rights end at the point that it negatively impacts another person or group. Indiana can shove it and any other asshat state that follows suit.

Tennessee women's basketball is a fairly common subject on the boneyard but not like uconn is here. Right now, of the first 20 threads here, uconn is in the title of 4 of them. On the boneyard's first page of about 50 threads, not one of them has Tennessee or Lady Vol or any reference to us at all in the thread title.

They don't always put it in the title but 4 of theirs on their first page are directly referring to Tenn or the thread ends up being about Tenn...and there were more when we were still in the Tourney last week. The whole McD's AA game thread has pretty much ended up being them saying Cooper is gonna be the equivalent of all the other recent Tenn players who were McD's AA game POG but ended up being "busts" at Tenn (Simmons, Nared, Russell all mentioned). I post and frequent there a lot. Maybe it's a draw.

I looked again and there are some threads there that are about us even though we are not mentioned in the title. I stand corrected. I think you're right. It's a draw.

Tennessee passed the same law under Phil Bredesen in 2009. The language in the two bills are almost word for word identical. Appears that Indiana just copied and pasted Tennessee's law and they're catching hell for it.

Tennessee's law is a little different. I think any laws, or thoughts in the same vein, are bull ****. All states, including TN and Indiana, need to back up and rethink what they are legislating.
