UConn discussion (merged)

... and Geno doesn't. His actions have backed up this statement. He has taken every opportunity to cast the "evil empire" shadow over Pat and her program since day one, and it seems apparent his actions came from a jealous place. His overgrown male ego could never accept the fact Pat built women's basketball with blood, sweat and integrity.

Remember, we're talking about a man who has no filter and no boundaries. What ever happened to that "harassment" suit brought against him by a female bodyguard? It's very strange how it just went away.

Did he ignore the rules to get Maya Moore and her mother to UConn? My money is on the answer being, "Yes!" The NCAA was too meek (no surprise) to do anything but slap Geno's wrist. Insinuations walk but facts talk, and the fact is Maya did get a special tour of ESPN, which still touts her as the Jordan of women's basketball, and her mother was "magically" able to live a lifestyle in Connecticut she was never able to do in Georgia. Do the math.

As a Tennessee alumnus and longtime Lady Vol fan, I want no part of a LV / UConn regular-season rivalry. We play in one of the best conferences in basketball. Can most of you even name UConn's at this point?

Show Geno's ego to the door, and if we cross paths with his team in the near future LVs, crush them.

People hate Geno so much, I know that.... I try to see all angles .... and do admit that he and his staff coach the hell out of their team for the better..... they never take a possession off.... they are always diving for the 50/50 balls.... and they seem to get the best out of their players, even the middle of the road recruits who play there (Faris, Dolson, e.g.) ..... I will add Muffet and her staff as another coaching group I like to watch.....

The thread ,.... on playing UConn again, well I hope we do not. It is certainly time to chart our own course.....

Yes, of course we should play UConn!! We should play as many ranked teams as we can schedule. It is always good
Practice for the NCAA.

We do not need to make a big deal about playing UConn but just treat it like another game.

We will make great strides next year. Good season is coming!!

Is this thread really necessary?!??!

There isn't much reason for other boards to talk about Tennessee nowadays...that's the cold truth.

No where near true!!! Every board I've visited always has Tenn mentioned, as well as UCONN! Although we havent been to a FF in years, people around the country are still fascinated by our Program. Don't let a thread get started about Tenn on the Boneyard....Tenn is still relevant and will be relevant for years to come! Give it up arm!!! F**kin a**!

I will not go into what I think of our coaching at this time, but I will say that I am almost glad Maryland beat us because I would have gotten sick watching what UConn would have done to us.

Having players that can shoot the ball versus players that can't is the difference. We have the defense to beat any team can't score enough points. Hoping that will change with the new additions.

Wait.....wasn't the Lady Vols best player and scorer out with a knee injury? Amongst other injured players?

I'm just a little curious

in the first half. We had 48 for the game! Put no need to worry about your offense, Holly!

UConn had 3 All-Americans on the floor, and if schools could submit more than 3 nominations from their team, the Huskies would probably have had more AAs on the floor, so I'm not sure UConn is the team you want to use as a measuring stick for Holly and the LVs right now. She had one AA on the LVs this season, who unfortunately was sitting on the benchin the Elite 8 game. Along with Jasmine Jones. Along with Mercedes Russell. Along with Jannah Tucker. Holly had a lot of firepower unavailable this season, culminating with losing Izzy down the stretch. I ws actually shocked she was able to regroup this team after the loss of Izzy and get this team to the Elite 8, so I think she and the staff deserve some credit this season.

Last year I was extremely disappointed with her coaching. This season I thought she took a significant step forward as a young HC.

Negavol is at it again. You'd never be happy if we do win a NC game because you'd find some excuse that we didn't win w/enough high points.

See you are from Jackson, TN. My hometown. Graduated in '70 from the old Jackson High before it was consolidated with Merry High to become Jackson Central-Merry. Sadly, I rarely get a chance to get back there.
