There are a few heavyweights that could drop and do a catch-weight vs Bones...Struve, Schaub, and Vera come to mind, though I don't know the last 2 are very good matchups for Bones.

The UFC needs a 235 lbs division, and maybe an uncapped heavyweight division (or maybe 300 lbs, or something quite a bit bigger).

Sonnen's style, like we have discussed, isn't to "destroy." I think people like you overlook that. If you are going to point out other fighters' reputation outside of the UFC, you need to include Sonnen's record.

Comparing his Rep to theirs isn't even a comparison man, come on. Those guys were widely recognized as top 5 guys in the world pre UFC. You are really reaching now.

I actually agree with you on this one. Those 3 could drop, Struve would be the only one to pose a problem. IMO

The UFC definitely needs to divide the weight class badly. Idk about the uncapped heavy weight. Cause then the 250 guys are in trouble against the 285 guys.

I'm not comparing their rep. I'm saying you discounting Sonnen's record outside of the UFC is crap.

I'm saying the guys you named are not like sonnen, they were top 5 guys. You brought up Silva and Aldo, I was pointing out why their case is different. Also their record in the UFC is stellar. So that's a strange argument to make, saying the hadn't fought or only fought once.

Edit : I didn't discount his record, I simply pointed out his UFC record. Should I point out Silva and Aldos UFC records as well? Just a bad comparison.

You are pissed because Sonnen is getting a title fight he "doesn't deserve" because his record is 6-5 in the UFC. I stated that he was 12-4 overall since 2006, which you discounted because not all of the fights were in the UFC. I made the comparison that Anderson Silva got a title fight after just ONE total fight in the UFC and Aldo was given the title without fighting anyone. I did this to prove to you must take into account a fighter's accomplishments outside of the UFC, which you are now agreeing with.

I'm not pissed, I'm annoyed. You keep talking record outside the UFC, that doesn't matter if you dont produce in the UFC. Ask Shields, Cro Cop, Mayhem etc.about records outside the the UFC translating. It's about a skill set. Those 3 guys and Chael are 1 dimensional. Which is why Silva and Aldo got their shot multidimensional fighters. It's really not that hard to understand. I don't agree with you, I said I'm not discounting his record, I'm discounting that he has the necessary skills to be a champion, unless his one dimension is extraordinary and his isn't. Tito's was, Belforts was, JDS is. Chael has above average wrestling, below average hands, weak gnp, below average bjj, horrible sub defense, big charisma.

I already told you that I didn't think he deserves the title shot, but he's light years better than Shields, Cro Cop, and Mayhem Miller. To suggest otherwise is retarded. And that is putting it mildly. He's beaten top contenders, and was close to beating the best of all time, even with his "above average" wrestling. The fact that he stepped up when his company needed him (when other "qualified" fighters didn't) and the fact he sells PPV's makes it decision I understand. Do I agree with it? Not necessarily, but there could be worse choices.

Light years ahead of Cro Cop and Shields? That really shows your lack of MMA knowledge. Lol on that note I'm done. Good luck against Bones, Chael.

There is no way Struve, who weighs in at 261 and is still comparatively skinny to other HW due times his height, could healthily drop a lot of weight to do a decent catchweight with Jones. I'd rather wait for that fight to happen when Jones finally moves up.

Right now UFC.com has Struve at 239, but he would be awfully skinny if he could drop down to 205

Hmmm. Google's fighter bio has him at 261. Sherdog, espn and Wiki all have him around the 255 - 251 range. Sherdog I've found in the past is usually the best at saying a heavyweights actual weight. Honestly I think the ufc website is off on that one, because the three Struve fights I've watched (Barry, McCorkle and Johnson) I remember him weighing in way more than 239.

I apologize, i stand corrected, UFC.com has him at 238, not 239 like i said...

Anybody watch TUF tonight? Dude got caught in a guillotine choke and bit the other guy. The guy had 2 holes in his skin on his rib cage from it. Freaking weird. Lol

The judges have been so bad this season. Can't leave it in their hands. Started off strong but about 4 of the last 5 fights have been dogs. Looking for it to pick up next round.

Agreed, the judging has been horrible. 2 really bad fights judging wise. I think it'll pick up too, at least I hope so. I think Dana picked track and field as the coaches challenge, to make Roy look stupid. And man did he ever.

I've watched more than I have in the past but not regularly. Is Colton and the mohawk douche still there? They were like bff's when I saw them stealing steaks or chicken that had been marinated. After seeing Colton attempt to fight a guy tapping gloves, I hate him. And the mohawk dude is a toolbag too. I saw another trying to start crap when all the guy wanted was an apology also.

Guessing most of the douches are on Big Country's team. Carwin chose a team of character, country even called Colton a douche and chose him. I hate Big Country's team.

They are both still there, Mohawk dude still is a douche. Always trying to pick fights, to get kicked out so he can pretend he's a bad a$$. Can't stand him at all. Hated colton since he faked touching gloves with a guy, and shot for the take down. Showed his character. A couple guys on Roy's team are alright guys, and I feel bad for them being stuck with such a knucklehead.
