Yeah it was a fast fight, dude was terrified and he hit Kimbo while he was trying tp back away or something. I rememver hearing people say it was a setup. Wasnt Kimbo supposed to fight Ken Shamrock but he had an eye injury or something?

And i don't think we will ever see either fight but better chance of seeing Jones/Silva. Mayweather wants no part of Pacman, IMO.

Do i remember correctly that supposedly if GSP and Silva were to win their last few fights, Dana said there would be a GSP/Silva fight? Then GSP got hurt and Silva faught Sonnen again and the talks of that went away?

Not sure about Ken, but I know Frank was brought up to fight Kimbo. Oddly enough Kimbo said no and got the Petruzelli fight instead.

I was talking about Floyd when I was saying a fighter was scared of the other. Didn't wanna say it outright, some people are sensitive to that statement. Lol

That was the original plan with GSP and Silva, has been discussed lately some. Jones vs Silva have pushed it to the side, plus GSP wants a year to put on weight. While he is still the greatest, IMO, Silva is getting older so I really see Dana pushing one of them to happen. A super fight like that would crush PPV numbers, and could be held in a huge venue. The money would be crazy. Do I honestly think either will happen? Not at all. Silva said he won't fight at lhw again, was just doing it to save the card. And I don't see GSP moving up either. One dream fight for me is Jones vs Overeem. But that would be 2 years away. That's assuming Jones can gain the weight and move up, like he has said he will. And that Overeem is still in the UFC in 2 years. In all honesty with Jones saying he'll move up by 2013, that.fight is more likely than the other 2.

Edit: ok I admit the Reem vs Jones fight is me day dreaming. Lol

The women are headed to the UFC, Rousey and Tate already signed. Strikeforce folding after January card.

You get Old and cannot take a shot anymore.
Cung looked fat.

That's true, look at Chuck's last few fights. And that's the one thing you can't work on and fix. Cungs always looked a little doughy to me.

On a side note I have to stop writing Cungs name, my corrective text is going to get me in trouble.

Mine too.

punch drunk...so many hits in a life time, it gets to the point where it doesn't take much to rock you

This is wrong. Kimbo was scheduled to fight Ken Shamrock. Ken injured himself last minute, and Petruzelli was brought in as the replacement. Frank was not involved.

It was Ken initially, my bad. You are wrong that Frank wasn't involved though. After Ken backed out Frank volunteered himself, to save the card. Many different rumors as to why the fight didn't happen. Commission wouldn't let him, weight class issues, Kimbo didn't want fight, XFC wanted easier fight, etc.

Edit: btw I said not sure about Ken, and that Frank was brought up. Not exactly a wrong statement.

Well that sucks, one of my favorite fighters to watch. Plus I like that he fights fairly often. Gotta wonder if this is a money move, he is getting up in age. Though father time hasn't slowed him down at all, a layoff like that could really hurt him.

There really isn't an incentive for him to fight unless they are "superfights." There is no reason for him to fight Bisping, Weidman, etc.

That said, he needs to give up the Middleweight title.

If nobody can beat him, why give it up? I wouldnt give it up unless somebody takes it from me

Semi-retirement, so to speak. If he isn't fighting until the end of next year, then which fight is that going to be? GSP? Jones? If he isn't going to defend his title at Middleweight, why keep the title? With his age, I think it makes sense to "retire" from middleweight, fight a superfight or two, then retire for good.

Money is always an incentive to fight, Weidman would be an interesting fight if he can beat another top guy or 2. Would like to see him embarrass Bisping personally.

Give up the title? GSP only fights once a year and still has his title, why should it be different for Silva?
