I think Sonnen is being sarcastically nice to Jones and Jones doesn't know it. Jones has said on the show he doesn't like Chael. Something needs to happen damnit!

Voltage as I predicted, toot toot, your desired match of JDS vs Reem is gonna happen. I would say the loser would fall far back in the title race....but Cain's next opponent is Bigfoot, the same Bigfoot that Cain dismantled recently in a little over 3 minutes. Personally I would have given Bigfoot, Werdum. And the most impressive winner of that fight and the Cormier-Mir fight would have gotten Cain. I understand not shelving Cain for too long, but Werdum deserves it over Bigfoot if that's the case. Anyway, JDS-Reem should be awesome!

Evidently, not sure how you get smashed by a guy then win a couple fights and get.a title shot. Also he has lost to Cormier and Werdum along with losing to Cain in his last 8 fights. I don't know how they pick title contenders anymore.

I'm betting Dana went to Cormier with a guaranteed title shot if he beat Mir, and Cormier turned it down. If that happened, then you really don't have any other options. Bigfoot's last 2 wins over Browne and Overeem are uber-impressive, but Cain's win over him was one of the most dominant performances I have ever witnessed. It sucks that there isn't any other options available.

On the other hand, getting to watch JDS-Overeem more than makes up for it. Someone is taking a nap in that one.

Dana also announced Gustafsson will get the next title shot at 205 if he beats Mousasi. I thought for sure Hendo would get the next shot if he beat Machida. Gustafsson will have earned his title shot, though, so I'm not upset about him being next in line.

Someone that has fought in a weight class and won a string of fights. And someone that didn't just get smashed by the champ would be a start.

Dana is in the business of making money. I understand why Sonnen is fighting Jones. What fighter should get the shot? I think the only other logical choice would have been Dan Henderson.

I know I didn't say anything about Dana, calm down. Should be non title any semi sane person would understand that. Just about anyone else in the division has done more than Chael to warrant a shot. So pick one.

Short memory, I see. You might wan't to reference your previous post in regards to Dana. Jones had already cleaned out the division of all the top contenders aside from Henderson. Add in the fact that Chael is a bigger PPV draw than guys like Gustafsson, and it's clear to see why Sonnen was the choice.

Also, having the fight as a non-title fight is borderline retarded. It makes the champion look weak and won't sell as many PPV's.

I've said it before, Jones should beat Sonnen, and I hope he does. It seems like most casual fans discount wrestlers because they aren't "exciting enough" to watch.

I like the idea of non-title fights for champs, but if the champ is fighting at the weight they hold the title (and not moving up or at a catch weight) then that fight has to be a title fight, IMO.
