Machida earned it so I say him, no way in hell does Sonnen deserve it. Nobody in his class can beat him though, if they are going to give somebody a shot outside of his class, either make it Silva or a drop a heavyweight down.

Agree, though Teixeira has promise, and I like Gustaffson in a year or so. But right now it's not gonna happen. Like I've said before, Jones will have to be off, while his opponent fights a near perfect fight. Which sucks, cause I can't stand Jones.

I'm just wondering why it's a crime against humanity that Machida isn't next up against Bones.

Maybe he is the best match, but I question whether he is the most deserving when Bones already finished him.

I can tell you why I think Sonnen is the most deserving. It's because he will bring in the most viewership for TUF 17. People are going to watch because it's Jones/Sonnen and let's face it, this is show business.

I wish that just for fun and for the fans they would do an even where champs fight the champs right above/below them, like an homage to the old time before weight classes just to see who is the true ultimate fighter

JDS vs Jones
GSP vs Silva
Henderson vs Aldo
Cruz vs Johnson

But I know theres no way in hell that would happen

The trash talking will get thick up in there! Fans will watch that one just because of the hatred and hopes of seeing one of them get knocked out. I love the fight but I dont think it should be for the belt.

Jones has finished every major contender, that's a mute point.

That in no way makes him the most deserving. Btw Silva vs Jones would have 500,000 more ppv buys than sonnen. And Silva has beat Chael twice, one of which was a destruction that made Chael change weight classes. It will help tuff ratings. But any fan with knowledge will not waste money on Jones vs Chael.

You never answered who deserves the shot? Fighting wise?

Strikeforce cancelled another event, can't be much longer before they totally fold. Wondering who everyone thinks will the UFC bring over? I'm thinking Cormier, Melendez and Rockhold for sure. I wish OSP for obvious reasons.

The fighters should form a union to have Dana White fired and threaten to start up their own company if he's not. I'm glad they said something because I've grown to dislike him quite a bit. I couldn't imagine having to work with that jackass.

It used to about making the best fights for the fans. Now idiots like Chael can just talk, and get a title shot. Like I've Chael got beat twice by Silva, and now he gets a shot at Jones? This whole thing is just stupid. Dana has favorite fighters that get shots or dont get shots cause Dana likes them. Its ridiculous, nobody in their right mind thinks Chael deserves a shot. Stuff like this will slow down the momentum that the UFC has built. Imo

So the Cowboys should play the Patriots in the super bowl cause that would be best for ratings? Yes eventually fights like this will hurt the sport. Fans will start caring less. Besides Jones vs Silva would be the highest grossing fight ever, so why not make that fight?

The fight game is completely different than the NFL. If this is the fight people want, you can't go wrong by giving it to them. Why would fans start caring less when Dana gives them what they want?

This isn't what you want, and you think it will ruin the sport. You'll keep coming back.

I didn't say it would ruin the sport. I guess casual fans will enjoy the fight, cause Chael does sell fights. So I understand that side of it. I have yet to talk to a hardcore fan that is excited about the fight though. So I dont really know that fans want this fight. Of course fans paid to watch sideshow Brock.

Yes I will continue to watch MMA, I've watched since the beginning. And it is my favorite sport, at the same time I wont pay for a fight that I think is trash. My friends that are hardcore fans feel the same way. Yes I understand casual fans far out number us, so that factors in. Maybe I'm just letting my passion for the sport get to me.

A playoff is on the way. I didn't mind it but I'm also a Tennessee fan and they play in the SEC.

It's bad for the sport because I want to see the two teams that played through the field to get to the top. The NY Giants clawed and scratched their way to the top last season. All of those fighters in the light heavyweight division clawed and scratched their way to the top.

Now we got some butthole giving a middleweight loser a title shot because he has a big mouth that sells tickets.

UFC is becoming a joke riding the back of Dana White. He complains about TUF fighters being strategic to win a fight that makes or breaks their career. He just wants retards that sell money. "Go throw punches wildly, that done be what I want". said Dana White.

Dana White is the worst. To each their own but that's how I view it. He's a scumbag.

Yes, he promoted UFC and helped make MMA popular. The same way he built the company up, is exactly how he's destroying it. He got the fans he wanted. He's just willing to sell them down the river for money.

I rarely wish injuries on athletes. Michael Vick is one of them. But at this point, I hope Jon Jones puts a feeding tube in Chael Sonnen's mouth to put an end to this garbage.
