UGA continuously makes me chuckle

are you asking for help with your homework? Just grab a calculator and move along

So kennesaw is ranked higher than UT?

#453 The University of Tennessee, Knoxville - Forbes.com

#570 Kennesaw State University - Forbes.com

I know salesman are stupid and all but geez 453 would be considered lower than 570

PS my buddy starts in August

First, let me congratulate UT for beating KSU. But you have to consider that KSU didn't become a university until a few years ago, and didn't even begin as a college until 1963. Give them some time and they'll catch up.

And your friend didn't get into KSU with a 1.9 (see below). How did we even get into debating UT/KSU when we were initially talking about UGA/UT? Is this a diversive tactic on your part?!?!

Kennesaw State University Admissions
Kennesaw State freshman have, for the past ten years, posted a combined SAT score between 1000 and 1100 (Honors students posted 1200). The average high school GPA for entering freshmen has been above 3.00.

The requirements for admission include an SAT score of 950 or an ACT score of 20., along with a minimum high school GPA of 2.5. An application fee of $30 is required for online applicants and $40 is required for manual applicants. One unique aspect to the admissions program is that KSU encourages students under the age of 23 who have obtained a GED to spend two years in a community or junior college before applying as a transfer student.

I know no fewer than 50 people that go to UGA. They range from the incredibly dumb 'how did you even graduate high school' to the unbelievably smart, just like any other college. This isn't like comparing Yale to Pellissippi St Community College. Our schools are very similar. So take your holier than thou smug attitude and your prized #50something scholastic trophy and kindly g t f o.

Well my orange friend, congrats. Because your "incredibly dumb" UGA friend had the following:

UGA Admissions Data (2009):
•Percent of Applicants Admitted: 56%
•Test Scores -- 25th / 75th Percentile
•SAT Critical Reading: 560 / 660
•SAT Math: 570 / 660
•SAT Writing: 560 / 660

and his future employee had the following:

UT Admissions Data (2009):
•Percent of Applicants Admitted: 71%
•SAT Critical Reading: 520 / 630
•SAT Math: 530 / 640
•SAT Writing: - / -

I wonder how your UGA friend describes you!

He transferred from another college. Good try though.

UT ranks 104 on US News and World Reports (tied with FSU) KSU, not ranked

so UGADawg4life... What are you going to do when your precious Johnny Snot Nose doesnt get into UGA and has to go to the god awful KSU?

"Johnny Snot Nose" is my child. And you wouldn't call him that to his face. Because if he didn't beat you to a bloody pulp, I would. He's a starting, lettering, college athlete in his sophmore year and will be transferring to UGA next fall, with a 3.8 GPA. But if he did want to go to KSU, I'd support him. It's a fine, growing school in a county of more than 500,000 people.

My kid is John Henderson...I can do it too.

Florida signed three times a better class than them last year.

Counting on true freshman to deliver you to greatness is beyond the absurd.

You're wrong. I also know a guy he's staying with and he got in with a 2.1.

You can deny my facts all you want, but I'm right and you are wrong.

Dude, I live in Cobb Co. I got my MBA from KSU. I'm a member of the alumni assoc. I know many, many kids that go to KSU, have applied to KSU etc. Your "friend" didn't get into KSU with a 1.9. Take the lie somewhere else.

An MBA, huh? This explains a lot.

Again, thumping your chest because you went to UGA is only going to get you as far as your own living room. Its a good southern school, and ranked higher than UT, but to think that the school is replete of people on the low end of the distribution is silly. If there weren't people on that end, there would be no distribution. I've met some very smart people from UGA, one of my best friends actually, but i've also met UGA grads who I'm sure even you would be embarrassed by. The same of course goes for UT, but you need to acknowledge that UGA doesn't enroll 27,000 valedictorians.

You also have completely missed the point, on several occasions, that just because UGA is ON AVERAGE a better overall public school than UT, that this doesn't mean that UT doesn't have programs far superior to their UGA counterparts. There are rankings to back this up, though college rankings only matter so much. Case in point would be the kid from Brown who didn't make it to the second semester in my program. I'm not bragging, but pointing out that your school name matters, but not nearly as much as some people want to believe, yourself included.

I totally agree with you. I know some cool folks who are UT alum/fans. And I know some dweebs who are UGA alum/fans. One dude on this forum said that "all UGA fans are dicks". Which, of course, is not true because half them are women. But, in any case" I don't think that people become or stop becomming dicks just because you cross a state line. Unless, of course, you're talking about the state of Alabama, where the rules of nature don't apply.

I started smacking when someone in this string threw a barb at my university. I like talking SEC football with fans of other schools. And I try, most of the time, to be a good visitor. Some times I succeed and sometimes I don't. We do have the Talking Heads in common. I have the music DVD "Stop Making Sense" that they recorded, probably in the 80's, that we watch on my surround-sound system. It has "Burning Down the House" on it. They threw away the mold when they invented David Byrne!
