UK is a dangerous game.

Kentucky’s offensive game plan is what scares me the most about this game.

Think of death by 1000 paper cuts. They may literally have zero explosive plays, but if they manage 3-4 yards a pop with Rodriguez, move the chains, and sustain 8-9 minute drives, that does not bode very well for us. Our offense can’t do anything if they are sitting on the bench.

The X factor in this game is going to be Tennessee’s red zone defense imho.

I’m assuming This game is going to be a lot closer than a lot of people (at least I’ve seen on the board) think.

Good thing we have a pretty good run defense.

Their opponents' ranks nationally in total O:

Miami 121
UF 43
NIU 69
OM- 12
USCe 81
MSU- 62

Ole Miss is the only decent O they've played. They beat UK and put up 399 yds. They've seen nothing like what they're going to face this Saturday. What they saw last year... was nothing compared to what they are about to face. I HOPE their coaches and players make the mistake of looking at last year to gauge this year's O.

Unless UT hands them the game, I personally think that UT's D will shut down the run game and pressure Levis mercilessly. They will force mistakes.

I also think there's at least the possibility that people come away saying, "wow" about UT's secondary in coverage so long as they're healthy at CB. UT put in a lot of work with the young guys last week. Though Bama was a huge challenge the DB's did some good things in that game. They made it hard on Young by giving him tight windows. UK has neither the QB nor the WR's to do what Bama did.

I’d love for the secondary to have a great game. I was impressed in their improvement after to LSU and again in the Alabama game. I mean they put up a bunch of yards but they also had a literal Heisman QB. A lesser player at QB in that game and they can’t come back, we also get off the field more, and the game is not close.

Levis is not Young nor does he have the weapons, but he’s a solid QB and they are 5-1 since getting him back. I think he’s part of that, but also their running back has been putting up good yards. Are they the team that is going to be able to run on us? I just don’t see it. Alabama only ran 112 yards on us, and they aren’t exactly known for a bad run game. I do believe we will win by a lot, and I actually think Kentucky is a good game to have before Georgia.

Stetson Bennett is also not Bryce Young, but he’s very accurate. They don’t score through the air a lot, but they move the ball very effectively that way, something like 320 ypg. So if our DBs can keep improving and we can get them off the field, they won’t be able to keep up with us score for score unless their defense can stop us. That happened last year, but it’s not the same dudes.

They are definitely at or near the top in a bunch of defensive categories but Alabama was as well until they played us. One weird thing I observed is that we are much better at sacks and tackles for loss than they are. For such a highly touted defense you would think they wouldn’t be near the bottom of the FBS in those stats.

Actually, we have done a good job at getting at the QB all year, and our tackles for loss aren’t terrible either. Like someone said above that was how Missouri was able mess them up, so maybe we can too. My dream for that game is we are affecting him big time, the DBs are making plays on passes and we are getting off the field, we stuff their run game, get some turnovers, and our offense continues doing what they normally do.

Probably we won’t dominate them like that, I do think they are a good team, but all they have really done so far is best Oregon, struggle against Kent State and Missouri, and beat up on a bunch of teams that you would expect them to beat up on. They haven’t been tested yet. Whether we win or lose I certainly expect us to change that.

they broke out the playstation 3 and played ncaa football 2014 only place they could find a offense that could score this much !!! GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laugh if you want but you can throw stats out the window in some games. Kentucky has had this date circled all year. Beating Tennessee makes their season a success regardless of how lack luster it’s been to this point. This is just another game to us but it’s the game they’ve prepared for all year.

We could and should stomp the hell out of them bc we match up really well with their weaknesses but there’s been several games in the past where we should’ve blown them out.
Coaches who prepare for one team all year don't coach long.

I also seen the Pitt game and the end of UF where they couldn’t pick up 1-2 yards to put the game away.
And yeah avg. under 4 yards a carry against a UT Martin is not anything to brag about.
I think it will be a close game.
On averaging under 4 yds a carry against UTM you realize we weren't scheming to run the ball. They had numbers in the box the whole game but we still ran. If KY. Does that We will light them up.

We win, but Things that bother me about this game.

1-Ky is desperate for a win and a state of being a higher Tier program.
Desperate teams take Desperate Actions
2-They seem to falter every year around mid season label as a contender to a pretender status
3-Full week to prepare and change some things offensively, Defensively will be hard for them to adjust
4-We are going to score. Ky will try to keep the ball as much as possible.
5-This is going to be a Physical Game and KY plays dirty
6-HH will have a bounty on his head because KY thinks that is the only way to win.
7-Crowd Noise will be a must. Ky will be prepared but will not overcome it.
8-Special teams continue to shine.
9-We are their Golden Egg/Goose.

Stoops talks too much. Hard to come to Neyland at this point and expect a win.

Stoops has a less than stellar record after an open date. He’s 3-3 over the last 6 years, with most of those wins coming against Vandy.

I’m guessing he overthinks things, gets away from what they do well and tries to get creative. He desperately wants this one, which certainly works in our favor. Judging by his press conference demeanor and statements, I think he knows he’s in trouble. Our strengths are poor matchups for their weaknesses. Stoops gets exposed, again, as a pretender.

Bunch of cream puffs in here.

Someone tell me the last time Heupel didn't have the team ready to play...

This team is built different. They handle their business and are ready to play every week. Kentucky is gonna get smoked in Neyland Saturday night.
Bump for ego purposes

Seeing the Kentucky team play, yikes. They have all the tools to be dangerous on offense but they put no pressure on single coverage and do nothing to exploit holes in the blitzes. It is as plodding and sleepy as an NFL offense, though.

They are a ranked team with pretty good defense and a good offense with Levis. They also have a bye week before TN week. They just beat a ranked Miss State team too. It would be easy for this team to look ahead to UGA and lay an egg against UK.

Just my thoughts.

I'm sorry sir, but your thoughts have been

Heuple doesn’t over look games… Our DL will dominate UKs OL… Rodriguez will be minimized and Levis will be under pressure all night… UT steam rolls UK by at least 3 tds get that bvs out your system… listen to heup they prepare the same way no matter the opponent and the team is 100% bought in… enjoy the ride.
Nice crystal ball!
