It was 2002. Your '01 team beat #1 Duke in Cameron, but folded down the stretch. I think UNC lost on 6 consecutive Sundays to finish the season.

After gaining a number one ranking, lost to Penn State in the 2nd Round, if I remember correctly.

Edit: I should clarify, the number one ranking was earlier in the year. Like January or February. Not playoff time.

I think February after you beat #1 Duke in Cameron. Freaking Brendan Haywood hit a foul shot with second left after a bizarre foul by Battier. I was at that game.

I hate to admit it, but UNC's throwback unis with the all white Jordan Concords are pretty sweet.

With the exception of the last minute, that's probably about the best half of basketball you could ask for.

I watched it. Was expecting UNC to lose, even down to the last. Pulled through though. That was a heck of a game.

I can't believe Pitino is 0-6 against North Carolina. I thought he had this one in the bag.
