UNC basketball

Actually, now that I think of it, I wonder if she's from New Jersey too. I'll look it up, if you know what I mean.

Ms. Knox is a very smart, kind, down to Earth, Jewish girl raised from humble beginnings in Hoboken. She also seems to have very strong opinions on women's rights and a helluva work ethic.

Okay, level with me, dude. I've looked at her wiki page, which is extensive and impressive, I might add. But nothing on where she came from, as far as I could tell. Is she really from Hoboken, or are you just joking still? I must know!

On a serious note though, yes, I think she is very intelligent. A lot of people, including certain feminists, place porn and feminism at odds. I don't necessarily, although the male gaze involved can certainly present some problems.

Haha I have no idea if she's from Hoboken. Just go with it. It fits the stereotype. I seriously think I'm still half cocked from last night because the creative juices are flowing freely this afternoon.

To add to your serious note, she is very smart, but I would say equally as naive. She's acting shocked by the backlash she's received from the community and her classmates. What did she think would happen? Most guys there would love to have that accomplishment on their resume.

Edit: Thanks for the A grade. Probably my first from a UT professor.

What you did there, I see it.

Eh, it's all debatable. One could easily make the case that her "naivete" is a simple demand for acceptance, rather than having a society constantly objectifying her and "dehumanizing" her in a sense because of her profession. But, as we said before, that's for the Politics forum "rabble rabble."

Hey, while I have you, RDU, what are your thoughts on the ACC and NCAA tournament?

1) Who will show up for the ACC, and who will win?

2) How do you see ACC teams doing in the NCAA?

I think that Saturday in Greensboro has great potential. It's possible that it will be UVA vs. UNC and Duke vs. Syracuse will take place Saturday afternoon. To me that is a pretty great day for the ACC. UNC is always a mystery to me in the ACC Tourney because Roy has kind of downplayed it's importance in the past and emphasized the NCAA. I think this UNC team is different and has a great opportunity to beat 2 good teams and get a higher seed. Actually all 4 top seeds will have the opportunity to move up in the NCAA tournament or at least have a more favorable draw. If Duke doesn't fall to a bad Maryland team on Friday last year, they probably go to the Final Four because they most likely don't play Louisville in the Elite Eight, because they are in a different region. Duke can possibly snag a 1 seed if they beat Syracuse, UNC or UVA on Saturday and Sunday. Otherwise Duke is probably the first 2 seed, which probably puts them in the South region with the Gators, who I see as the #1 overall seed. I would much rather Duke play at a closer site against Florida, than travel across the country. Of course until I see Wichita St. beat someone elite, I wouldn't mind Duke being in the Midwest region either.

Basically, I know nothing.

The NCAA tourney always seems to suit Pitts style of play, so I expect they could win a game or two, provided they get an invite, which I think they will. Virginia, Syracuse, Duke, and Carolina are all dangerous teams in their own way. They aren't teams that other schools will like seeing in their bracket.

Good posts, guys.

As for me:

1) The ACC: who the heck knows! I know it won't be Syracuse though. They won today, but they don't have what it takes. The champion could be either UNC, Duke, UVA, or an outside shot like NC State or even FSU.

2) The NCAA: once again, who the heck knows, but I almost feel like this is even more certain than the ACC. I think this is Florida's to lose. While they are not a great team in my opinion (I think 09 UNC and 12 UK would beat them), they are just what the doctored ordered for this particular season. Then again, the SEC is magnificently weak, so maybe UF has just been riding a fake high.

Others in it: WSU (until they loose, obviously), Louisville, and Kansas (with a healthy Embiid; otherwise, no dice).

By the way... TJ Warren should win ACC POY or at least share it with Marcus Paige and Jabari Parker.

Dropped to 15th in the AP

Paige named sporting news all American

Surprised we didn't drop a little more. I was thinking we'd be 17th or so.

Glad to hear that about Paige. And he should win the Cousy as well, imo. I don't get all this Ennis love. He's good, but I'll take Paige.

UNC's program is slipping maybe the game is starting to pass Roy by.

That's what I thought earlier in the year, but I'm not counting Roy out anymore. This has been one of his better coaching jobs. Plus, had he had the team he should have had (with Hairston), there's no telling what this team could have done. Probably top 5 at this point. They said he was tearing it up in practice, and now, he's most certainly been tearing it up in the D League. I think he's had multiple 30 and 40 plus point games.

And if everyone stays this year, UNC only loses McDonald. With the incoming recruiting class, the team could be very good next year.

Paige also first team all ACC and most improved.

JMM second team

Meeks all FR team

Tokoto all defensive team

Congrats to them all

I especially stand by my statement after today's performance.

A prophet.

Yeah, LMac really is an enigma. Most of the guys on the team (maybe with the exception of Meeks because he's only a frosh) seem fairly consistent. That's not to say they don't have dud games. McAdoo has certainly had some duds. But LMac's season has been all over the place. Wasn't he even the ACC player of the Week back in Feb. at one point? It's just odd that a 5th year senior can be that inconsistent.

Looks like it's up to UNC (unless I'm overlooking a mid-major from NC) to hold the fort for the state of NC now. We haven't been representing very well this year.

Edit: NC Central

We may or may not win this game, but it sure is nice to see us actually competing from the get-go for a change. Last two games have been competitive nightmares even though we made the outcome of both games in doubt towards the end.

I've been in and out of the game, but noticed that apparently Providence only had one foul against them for the first 15 minutes of the game. How is that even possible? Luckily, they've received four or five the last five minutes or so.

And now that I think about it, is there another player in America (except maybe Warren) who is more clutch than Paige? That SOB single-handedly gets us back into games late. As a matter of fact, had anyone else been able to contribute (Brice Johnson helps somewhat) late, UNC might still be riding a winning streak. Cotton outplayed Paige overall, but Paige came up clutch, at least for tonight.
