UNC basketball

Forget what I said about McAdoo about 3 posts ago. Buh bye James Michael. Must've heard that 2nd round $$ calling his name.

I'll believe he stays in draft once he's hired an agent. No problem testing the waters, but I'd be surprised if he gets a high draft promise/grade which should lead him to return to school. Not irreplaceable.

Gonna be pissed when Jabari returns

I don't know about that. There's a small chance, but I just don't think he'll do it. If he does, Duke will be preseason #1. Maybe UK has some 40-0 t-shirts that haven't been shipped to Haiti yet. I kid, Duke won't win a damn thing until those guys learn to play defense.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to that if he does. Winslow seems like a kid that can defend though.

Jabari Offically gone, he was the Ace card in the Rivalry for next year IMO. Already looking forward to it, next year will be a good year for College Hoops

Best of luck to Jabari, I was kind of hoping he would come back for another season and play with the Okafor and Jones, but you certainly can't blame him for going. He is a good kid and will be a great representative for Duke going forward, much more beloved by the Duke fan base than some of the other one and doner's.

The Duke/UNC series should be very interesting next year. I would say UNC has the edge with Paige coming back.

The rules need to change, this is so bad for college basketball. These guys should have the opportunity to go pro out of high school, but should at least have to stay for a couple of years if they sign a LOI.

I Agree on the rule change. One and done isn't helping the game, or the kids that are good enough already to be pros.

Nate Britt is spending the off-season switching from shooting left-handed to shooting right-handed. I've never heard of this.

Especially bad idea for a guard who wasn't even a terrible shooter to begin with.

UNC should be really good. I really like Paige, he's developed a lot the last 2 years. Good talent as always coming in.

Duke might be a little bit behind UNC but not much at all. Really wish we had won some of those recruiting battles with them. Jefferson would have been nice last year. But seems like we have frontcourt down anyway this year.

Either way, the state of NC is always fun to keep up with basketball-wise.

So black athletes were signed up for "African American" courses, that weren't real courses.

Is anyone shocked?

Honestly, I can't defend these ****heads anymore. They've obviously been playing the system, and if the NCAA chooses to strip the '05, or even the '09, title then so be it.

This all being said, I still question much of Willingham's "research." I'm not denying cheating went on, however.

In closing, I think UNC and UT are kind of similar: we both suck at cheating recently. I think UNC's attempt has been far more egregious, but nonetheless.

I just want to know how schools like Auburn, Bama, and Cal's Pals are so good at it.

Oh, and Rashad McCants is now dead to me.

Anyhow, whatever. Peace.

McCants also told "Outside the Lines" that he even made the Dean's List in Spring 2005 despite not attending any of his four classes for which he received straight-A grades.

lol

so if Arian Foster is considered a worse person than Dwayne Goodrich by a large number of the Tennessee fan base, what does this make McCants in the eyes of Tarheel fans?

McCants transcripts are hard to argue with...Simply put, he made A's or B's in African-American studies courses and C's, D's or F's in everything else. UNC's admin and alumni will now attack McCant's character and credibility and ignore his transcripts because their only defense is to paint him as a disgruntled, money-seeking former player with an ax to grind. Whether he is telling the truth or not is immaterial to UNC right now.

Tim Worley from Georgia has an accounting degree and said he never went to the first class.

The fraud that Jan Kemp, an English professor, exposed at UGA in the early '80's (Herschel Walker era) dwarfs what has been going on at UNC...UGA's treatment of athletes was revealed to be completely at odds with their own mission statement at trial.

There was also Dexter Manley who couldn't read or write but still passing college classes.

One of my favorite quotes from an athlete: LA Times reporter asking LA Laker (former Clemson) F/C Elden Campbell, "Did you earn a degree from Clemson University?" and his response, "No, but they gave me one anyway."
