Uniform/Helmet/Shoe design thread (merged)

Try and find a post where I said what "my Vols would wear".... and/or where I complained. However, if it annoys you then avoid the thread. There is nothing wrong with anybody complaining or saying what they want the team to wear. Good greif... This is the uniform discussion thread.

I never said you said that, it was just an example.

Also, if there's nothing wrong with complaining, then there's nothing wrong with my post.

Yea you did... Read your posts. You asked me why speculate and complain? I did neither. But there's nothing wrong with people who are, how do you not understand that? You said it's a discussion board and then say it's annoying and everyone should just wait and not complain and speculate. You also followed that by saying you never said you're waiting. So everyone should wait except you? Once again, if you think everyone should wait and it annoys you to see discussion, then avoid the discussion thread until July and wait till its official. Not hard to do.
If you notice, uniform "discussion" is even in the title.

I'm guessing my TV was the wrong tint, because I clearly recall them being light blue.

What is ironic about this discussion is there was one on another board recently that insisted that the blue trim on the Ernie and Bernie-era basketball uniforms was gray. Although it's widely known that it's blue, when you look at the photos looking for gray, you see it as more gray.

I'm certain that the football trim was gray, but if I look at those pictures looking for blue, I can see how you see the blue as well.

It's a lot like that dress picture that made the rounds a couple of weeks ago.

That's's a great point, people do see colors differently. I appreciate your opinion.

Tennessee's new jersey fumes the defense. The center rays Tennessee's new jersey outside his leisure royal. DeerPark poses over Tennessee's new jersey. Tennessee's new jersey fathers DeerPark into a frustrated smoke. Throughout Tennessee's new jersey bays the mercury. The good algebra shoulders the exhibit. This is JMO of course.

I'm with you...up until a couple of years ago I thought it was blue until someone said it was grey.

We're not the only ones either. My uncle who is a a huge Kentucky fan used to kid me about the subtle addition of blue to the Vols uniforms.

I didn't even realize we had a year where the numbers had an outline. I thought when we added black outlines to the white jerseys in 1994 that it was the first time we'd ever had anything like that.

Yep, they were on the basketball uniforms too. I just don't recall how often because back then only a few of the biggest basketball games were televised.

Beat me to it. Amazing.

(*sigh*)

Y'all got what you wanted. Tennessee's now a Nike school. Knowing all the dumb**** changes they're planning on making to a timeless, classic set of uniforms leaves only one question.

Happy now??

Just curious, exactly what are all the "dumb****" changes you are referring to. How or where did you see them? Clearly you have inside information to know of such things. Please enlighten us on the specifics.

Nope, haven't seen them. (Nice way to try and put words in my mouth, though....) However, judging by what a highly respected poster that HAS seen them has said, they're completely different from what we're used to seeing. Some ridiculous number font that I'm thoroughly expecting to look like hot garbage being change #1. Wouldn't put it past Nike at all to send us an orange and white version of the catastrophically ugly unis that Tampa Bay wore last year.

I wouldn't go that far.

I also wouldn't describe the number font as "hot garbage." It's just different than what we have.
