You're sitting here using the Tennessee Journalist as your source. While it tries to be good, there's only so much real reporting/research those journalist students can do. Bleacher Report is just as trustworthy for information as what you are using.

Somebody needs to change their posts per page. Thread is only 24 pages for me. Anyways, here you go. DP has been a pretty credible source on this stuff for a number of years.

From what I understand, the 1914 jerseys were not black, they were more of a dark gray, based on the some of the samples former players' families have. They may have faded, certainly, but the 1904 jerseys were definitely black and appear darker in photos than the 1914s.

Why does the link say it was black from 1911- 1920? What proof? Show me.
