So...I've been hearing that Nike really wants UT now and are willing to pay for it. Any truth to this, DP? Could just be rumor but I have heard a few times now that Nike will match whatever Adidas will pay.

I hadn't seen it. I had always seen and heard that Nike had us at a lower tier than some other teams but now wants but now they want us and are willing to pay or it. Could be nothing, just wondering.

I believe the talk about Nike wanting us started earlier this summer. In fact it may be earlier in this thread somewhere.

If Tennessee went to Nike, it would have to take less money. Nike does not pay schools what Adidas does.

They would like the contract and can offer some other incentives, but cash and gear-wise, Tennessee would have to take less to go to them.

As far as matching an Adidas offer, they don't have the right. Until the contract enters its final year on July 1, 2014, Adidas has the right to match any offer made by any other company.

I still don't get why everyone acts like that was some huge win. SC ended up being very average that year. We should have beaten them regardless of the jerseys.

And our smokey grays are way better than any black uniform. At least it's unique, everybody and their brother wears a black uniform now.

Storm Trooper's all white on Saturday it sounds like. Not a huge fan with white shoes and socks. I always thought if we wore all white unis, black shoes and socks looked better with them.
