There has to be a seat for everyone by law. Those seat would have been occupied by crew on take off and landing.

Bottom line....when he was asked to leave, he should have got up and left. When the cops arrived he should have not resisted arrest. He may get some money out of this but now the whole world knows about his felonist past. His practice will suffer and his family will be reminded of the shame he has brought on them. Only winners are the greedy plantiff attorneys.

Correct. The plane wasn't overbooked so the laws allowing overbooking and bumping passengers doesn't apply. Furthermore, the passengers can't be denied service after they're already boarded and seated. Initially, United should have found an alternative solution rather than trying to remove passengers.

The glorified mall cops will pay, too, especially the actual CPD officer that was moonlighting as airline security and manhandled him.

I hope this sets a precedent. Police officers, or people acting as police officers should not:

1. Act as enforcers for corporations.
2. Just boss anyone around without knowing the laws.

I also hope that people realize they don't always have to listen to those officers. Know your rights. Read your contracts.

Also, he has no felonies and was mistaken for another doctor from Louisiana that has that rap sheet. Besides, his past is not pertinent to his actions on Monday. Don't be stupid.

Anyone arguing for the airline and saying this guy deserved to be assaulted and dragged off the plane should be beaten themselves. If you're trolling that's one thing, but if you truly believe the airline was right then you're an idiot.

If you don't know that you will be physically removed when you refuse to leave a plane when asked multiple times then you're the idiot.

Asians are going to boycott United.. United has huge hubs in Newark, Chicago, SF and LA..
where huge populations of where Asians live..Don't see that having any impact. Its not like their a shortage of passengers... Ask the doctor with the broken face

Wrong. This story will last 30 days. When Asians book a flight, they will be just like you and me....they will choose the lowest fare with the best times. I hate the term "Asian". Do you think someone of Indian or Pakistani descent gives a sh*t about this bozo from Vietnam?
