Hate to bring up personal responisibilty in all of this, but if people would take better care of themselves, the cost of health care wouldn't be as high as it was if more people ate better/exercised. How much money do insurance providers spend on preventable diseases that relate to diet/fitness?

That is the problem with liberals. If someone doesn't believe in giving people fish for their daily meals, then they are mean spirited/evil. Heaven knows we don't need people being self-sufficient.

For one I'm not a Liberal.2,there is more to life than being only about "SELF",God blesses those who help the needy.It is my job as a christian to help the less fortunate.I will not veer from this direction.

Then you (as a Christian) need to do your part to save others. Let everyone else make their own decisons about what they want to do with their time and money.

That is the foundation of having a free society.

I'm not being sarcastic. I, like you, would love to see everyone get health care. But since there are too many people willing to take advantage of the system it wont work. And something will have to give and that means you lose something else valuable to society that is already being funded. Look around you and ask what can you give up now that will cover your $17,000 a year it will require for just the first year alone to make this program possible.

Do people not realize that nothing is free? I'm not bashing you, but this is a terrible idea, and it will only bankrupt us. Why are so many Canadians coming here for surgery, etc? It's the government's job to protect us, not to take care of us. Socialism is socialism no matter what spin you put on it. I know your heart is in the right place, but look at the facts. And as a Christian, remember what Jesus said about teaching a man to fish?

Well something has to be better than what we have right now...only the "HAVE'S" have good insurance,the"HAVE-NOTS"have no kind of insurance.

Is that really true though? There are no doubt circumstances that lead to some people being uninsured with few options, but are there really that many people out there with a rudimentary education that don't have insurance options available to them in some way shape or form?
