The odd part is many, including MC, said the plan/thought all along, was he'd take an OV on Memphis madness and committ. He set his visit up for that date recently, so it seemed to be falling in line. So why break from that? Many have thought Memphis lean, including all of Memphis, so why now committ after you've set 2 visits?just a little strange
Maybe CCM has flipped him and he's going to be our first committ and the one to get the ball rolling...one can hope right?!?!
This means absolutely nothing, but I'm going to throw this utterly ridiculous conspiratorial connection out there because it's Friday and work is almost over: CCM has been on Memphis radio an awful lot this week. Gotta mean something...
:good!:
Like I told you a few days ago, there have been murmurs around Memphis that he could commit any day. I personally thought it would be a more drawn out process, at least going to Memphis Madness but probably not taking all his officials.
Either Martin has made up more ground than any coach in NCAA recruiting history or he's a Tiger.
Not sure how that makes any sense, but ok.
Nick King has been such a monstrous Memphis lean since his freshman year. I don't think that CCM really had much contact with him before a few months ago. You said so yourself, UT wasn't even on King's list of 6. If they go from that, to overthrowing Memphis as the huge favorite and getting the kid's commitment on Monday, CCM deserves a statue.

CCM was contacting him when he took the job, he didn't just start contacting him the last couple months.
Once again, yes it'd be a shock to all of us, but we atleast got a visit, are mentioned in his top 4, and we're heavily recruiting him. Cal flipped jones, who was a long time Washington lean then commit, in just one phone call. No matter what happens with king, there's no way CCM pulling King would compare to cal. Hell, even stallings and vandy pulling king wouldn't compare to what cal has done.
Cal had been recruiting Jones for a long time. He didn't just see him on TV committing one day and say "hey that guys looks like he can play basletball. Wait, he's committing where?". All Cal did was talk Jones out of a hasty double-committment with his buddy.
Plus the perceived separation between UK and UW wasn't that great. For King, the perceived gap between Memphis and anyone else has always been enormous. CCM deserves a medal if he jumps the gap.
I hear ya. Would be a major coup. I think it'd mean more to UT fans to pull this one than it would to pull Hubbs or Nichols just because of what it would imply about the perceived position of UT basketball in the state relative to that of Memphis.
