I am stunned the Red Sox got Mayer. Steal of the draft. How he fell to #4 I’ll never understand.

Have we heard any more chatter about the transfer catcher from Kentucky? That could be a big get as well. Of course I’m guessing he would need time to build chemistry with our pitching staff but his bat could pay off immediately.

If he comes here, I hope he is a really good defensive catcher. If he is also a good hitter, it is just icing on the cake.

I’m actually not that surprised Rocker is falling. He’s very good but some of the shine wore off this year and his velo dipping a bit is a bit concerning and scouts are extremely risk averse.

Personally, I’d never draft a high school kid over a guy you’ve seen for 2-3 years at a high level college program.
