All things considered, I guess we came out of the draft in as good a shape as we could have hoped for. Everyone knew Dickey and Galanie weren't going to be in Knoxville next year. If we can secure Holman, I'd give this off season a solid A.

It’s fair to say, I have no idea what discussions have taken place, so, there’s that. If he was a HS kid, I’d look at it differently. He’s somewhere between a ranking of 50-100, however it’s sliced. I guess it’s possible he thinks getting drafted in the 18th round is a compliment but I doubt it.

The draft is all business and an interesting process. Team is interested in a talented kid and kid sets his "number" higher than the team wants to pay. They don't reach an agreement so kid goes undrafted. Many examples of that throughout the draft including some of the Tennessee commits. This is the first draft that I have really followed and sure learned a lot.

I’m sure that ‘splains a lot to those that have never followed a draft to the end. These final signings will go on for weeks.

Seem to recall that when Cam announced his return this past year, he stated in an interview that he told MLB teams last year he was not interested in being drafted and wanted to move on into the real world. That can be the case with some guys.
