There’s really nothing to add. The deadline is tomorrow and that will probably bring both sides together. Situations like this happen every year, and it’s important to remember that last year there was only 1 guy drafted in the first 5 rounds that didn’t end up signing

So while it’s a possibility Maui comes back, I would definitely not get your hopes up at all on that front

He actually did enjoy his time, especially the second half of the year when the team really banded together. He loves V.

Unfortunately some of our trashy fans blamed him for stuff that wasn’t his fault and acted like he was far worse than he was, but luckily athletes of his caliber are good at tuning that out.

Again I expect him to be gone, but he’s not going to let the Giants just take him for nothing either. He would be happy to return

Slot for his pick is $569,100. Giants only have $106,325 left before going over their pool money and having to pay a tax on that amount. A lot of team do go over their pool a little bit and pay the small amount of tax. He is the only player left in the first ten rounds that the Giants have not signed. If they don't sign him that slot money counts against the Giants pool money anyways, am I correct on that? So just sign the kid.

I didn't think there is any way he would come back with no leverage next season. However, he could probably make close to $100K with a good NIL and could feel like he could get a better contract next season. Heck, he could get drafted later next season and still get a better contract than what the Giants are giving him this season.

He’s almost definitely going to make way more money going pro than anything he could get here next year.

If he does come back it would be to improve his draft stock and try to get a higher number than he’s currently getting. That gets complicated though because he will be out of eligibility next year. If he returns I think he has a monster year, but not sure how much more money he would make in the long run

This is why I think he will ultimately cave tomorrow. The giants have a lot of incentive to cave too, so I’d imagine they’ll meet somewhere in the middle
