Updates from Camp

I wonder if Brunetti has room to grow?

Judging by seeing his family members at some games, I doubt it.

From things I have heard around his school, Miss. St is probably the school to beat right now. I think that if TN offered they would jump right up there, but unless a lot of the other "wish list" QB's start falling off the board, I dont see it happening. He is going to be a good QB in college as long as he gets into a system that fits him.

First time poster. I took my rising jujnior over to the lineman camp today. There were at least 90 OL and probably a few less than that DL. In the AM session, my son said that all the kids went through drills and were grouped by grade level. After lunch, the kids WERE grouped by ability level. I came back and watched after lunch and clearly saw an elite group of OL being watched and followed closely. My son was not in that group as he is a rising junior and although he is 6-5, he only weighs 220 lbs.

My son said it was perhaps the most intense practice he has ever been through and at the same time said it was the best day of his life. The coaches were all participating and encourageing to all.

Around 3, the players were taken over to the stadium and the parents were asked to stay behind due to construction. I stayed at the indoor facility while ny kid was absolutely floored by the coaches locker room talks, followed by a running onto the field, kneeling down at the 50 on a power T, and listening to Coach Lane Kiffin deliver a charge that made my kid talk for 3 hours all the way back to Nashville.

Now, about what I observed while the OL DLs were at Neyland.

Coaches Reeves, Gran, Wilson, and one more were working out some QBs, DBs, WRs that arrived early for camp tomorrow. I do not know their names but I will tell you that I have NEVER seen that much skill at on a field togther at one time in my entire LIFE. Two of the 6 or so QBs really stood out. A tall, slender balck QB with dreds and a not quite as tall, white QB with a stockier build. DBs covered like aglove all over the field and WRs had to fight them off to get open. The two QBs I mentioned routhinely hit the receivers in a very small window 15-30 yards down the field.

As far as nobody being allowed, there were parents everywhere so I do not know why you couldn't drop by.

Welcome to the board! Post more often!

Brentwood Academy?

I think Jarvis Landry will definitely get an offer for 2011. Out of the QB's I think Tommy Rees has the best chance of earning an offer. Skill positions are harder to eyeball, so the coaches may only offer certain players after reviewing film.
Rivals said Rettig didn't they?

He looks the part to me.

was that nuke in the video standing next to coach kiffin in the video outside during workouts in the red hat and black shorts.

About Brunetti being too short:

Too bad. I think it is 50/50 that he gets an offer from UT. I think they can't stand his height, but are tempted by the fact that he flat out looks good and will help to "lock down" Memphis. IMHO

You really live in Kuala Lumpur? Military? Racing fan?

Just figured I'd thank you guys for keeping this updated. Makes it so much better than digging through 100 topics

I'm going to be honest. I was not overly impressed with any of the QB's at camp. The best was Brunetti but he is small. Still if they offer him as a QB I believe he would commit on the spot. From a raw long-term "potential" standpoint Munchie has the most tools out of the QB's there but he is going to be at least a 2-3 year project. Not someone that will come in and play early in his career.

“We are going to do special things here,” the elder Kiffin said. “What a great place to be, it doesn’t get any better than this.”

Monte gets it. He is quickly becoming my favorite coach
