UROS Appreciation

I don’t think that it’s been mentioned, but Uros has two more years after this year. He’s an excellent player to have on the roster. If he has games where he only plays for 5 minutes, you’ll never see him pouting. He’ll still be the biggest cheerleader for his teammates. Maybe the most team-first guy I’ve ever seen wearing orange.

BHH is lost out there. Look for him to transfer out ... Aidoo maybe too .. our big men take forever to develop

I mean BHH maybe there’s a case for it? But from all accounts Aidoo seems very bought in to the plan for him.

The guy has zero backdown...the team is feeding off him.

He's going to be the marked man at future SEC away games. Certainly by the student section, hopefully, not by the refs.

My hope is that takes some heat off Santi and he keeps popping 3's.

I’ve said it in a few other threads, but I’ll admit Uros has been a very nice surprise. He always seemed like an incredible person, but I wasn’t sure he was going to be able to piece it all together on the court. Well….he’s not infallible, but he certainly is the best post player in orange at this moment, and it’s not particularly close. Hats off to him.

He is playing with an edge that this team desperately needs. We’ve discussed how Barnes hasn’t recently had a vocal leader that plays with an attitude like Grant and Admiral, but it seems Uros is showing flashes of being that guy. His teammates are clearly adopting his persona, and it’s made a big difference.

Uros is still a year away from his best ball.
Yes, he is finally moving away from finesse bb. But with more tape, my fear is he will become less effective as teams figure out how to deal with him.
Right now, he has an edge the team needs. I absolutely love the play he is giving.
But he is playing on the razors edge...a little more agression is going to be too far.
I predict that ON's minutes start to diminish.
And Fulkerson is a starter again ...not sure how soon, but it will happen.
Finally, BHH is coming along. We can expect him to get more minutes as his physicality becomes more prominent.
Next 6 games I was expecting 4-2, but the play of UP...has got me thinking 5-1 and with a healthy dose of good fortune ... 6-0.

You have to give Barnes credit for recruiting UROS and developing him. Also incredible kudos to Uros for taking the hard coaching, working all out and becoming a quality SEC basketball player. This team is a great team to watch and be a fan of. Sure some players will have a poor shooting night at times but as a whole it is an exciting team. It is hard to put a ceiling on Uros with his competitive desire and seeing how far he has come to this point and why worry with it - just appreciate his contribution and outstanding play.
