US may have killed Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani

When Iraq Was Clinton’s War

"The Clinton administration’s fixation on weapons and its desire for regime change were clearly on display at a February 1998 town hall, where Secretary of State Madeleine Albright tried to sell the public on bombing Iraq. Albright was repeatedly interrupted by antiwar activists, and pressed about why the US was so keen on attacking Iraq when there were many other, similarly terrible dictators throughout the world.

Albright replied, “No one has done what Saddam Hussein has done, or is thinking of doing. He is producing weapons of mass destruction, and he is qualitatively and quantitatively different from other dictators.” Albright then proceeded to lecture the audience, telling them “I’m really surprised that people feel they need to defend the rights of Saddam Hussein.”

1998: Signed Iraq Liberation Act calling for Saddam's ouster

That December, President Clinton launched Operation Desert Fox, a four-day air strike campaign meant to diminish Saddam's weapons capabilities. "If Saddam defies the world and we fail to respond, we will face a far greater threat in the future," President Clinton said. "Mark my words, he will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them." There was bipartisan support for the operation.

Once again, politically wouldn't just invade or kill him, actually thought passing a law would remove Saddam......

His policy was a little different, Clinton passively played regime change because he was too much of a political whore to make the decision needed to invade and rid the country and world of Saddam. He actually thought passing a law and lobbing some missles would remove Saddam.

Coincidence that Operation Desert Fox was approved 2 days prior to the House Impeachment??????

Channeling my inner LG.

Why would the US attack Iran for shooting down a Ukrainian passenger plane?

I think the countries that had citizens on board should be putting on the pressure to have all the information available to them , it doesn’t concern us as a country and shouldn’t Trump .

63 Canadians and 3 Brits were killed, you know our NATO partners? So far US, Canadian, and European security folks are saying it was a mechanical failure only the Ukrainians are saying right now they haven't seen any evidence of that.

Honest question , how far would the Brits and Canucks push Iran if it was Americans and not their citizens ? That’s how far we should push Iran on the matter ( in my opinion )

I stopped reading after the bold. Only more lunacy to follow. Clinton's policy in Iraq was something entirely different from an invasion.

Excellent response to being assaulted with your own argument.

Further, aside from Bill's multiple statements that Hussein had WMDs and telling Bush he'd have to do something about Hussein, that Iraq must have a new government, we have his wife voting for invading Iraq. In fact, Bill was still selling WMDs in February 2003.

Your assumptions don't match theirs.

Taking the word of your enemy over your own intelligence agencies and military?????
Certainly the thing only a traitor would do.
Wink...wink.

Trump/Putin anyone?

Uhm, yeah, that was the satirical point, Luth.

Except in the case of the American left, intel, FBI, DOJ didn't wage a baseless 3-year campaign to destroy you, your family, and associates. Again, when that happens to YOU, come on here and tell us what great ***** guys they are, okay?

Putting America's enemies "on the back burner" as Unkie Joe Biden would say.

Trump for three years: "You cannot trust the intelligence agencies !! They are part of the deep state out to get me ! Any intelligence they have should be released and not kept secret like this, its not fair !!!!"

Trump for the last six days: "Mum's the word."

So why do you suddenly not believe the intelligence agencies?

Republicans didn't learn anything from the W Bush admin. For 8 years, everyone acted like they learned a whole hell of a lot, but put an R next to POTUS's name and everybody gets amnesia.

Well they've been fighting and dying alongside our guys since 2001. The only time NATO's collective defense clause has been invoked was for us after 9/11.

It took you 30 minutes to respond after I edited my post only to still be trying to blame the invasion of Iraq on Clinton? You're special.
