US may have killed Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani

Trump for three years: "You cannot trust the intelligence agencies !! They are part of the deep state out to get me ! Any intelligence they have should be released and not kept secret like this, its not fair !!!!"

Trump for the last six days: "Mum's the word."
Equating an agenda driven investigation into an American president elect along with the Ukrainian debacle vs a defensive action in the middle east.... Totally the same.

Your explanation does not match the facts, according to Trump, Esper, and Pompeo. Are you calling them liars?
Nonsense.
1. Soleimani made himself a target by plotting with Hez yet more imminent attacks on U.S./coalition forces. Confirmed by Esper, Milley, Pompeo. Whacking time.
2. He has been doing so for decades. It was past time he get whacked.

There is no discrepancy here.

He does, agreed.

But if we're being honest, there will always be those who would disagree with his assessment of "imminent." The right would do the same thing to a Dem president.... I'm just saying that when sht absolutely needs to get done, I'm not mad at a president that takes a hard line against a known shtbag like Salami if there's an inkling that America's sons and daughters are in harm's way. Nah, so far, I aint mad about this, not at all.

That said, if he's lying - burn him down.

Yep I’m sure the intel came and he had to make a real quick decision to take action or not.... so far he has handled everything perfectly.

I think the discussion is now centered more on his stated justifications. What the president does not have is the freedom to decide who is a threat, and how and when that threat will be eliminated without the willingness and ability to explain and justify his actions.

Was Obama's defense of his actions so poor that members of his own party claimed.........
"They had to leave after 75 minutes while they're in the process of telling us that we need to be good little boys and girls and run along and not debate this in public. I find this absolutely insane."

That is 100% right..... you shouldn’t be arguing this in the court of public opinion.

Article 2 of the constitution says different my man. He's both the chief diplomat and the commander in chief of the armed forces. Truthfully, it's not as if this is just a good thing - it's an absolute necessity to the safeguarding of this Republic. You can not like the guy, but it's important that you grasp the underlying principals about why the office demands these privileges.

If we had to run every foreign policy or military decision through the house and senate, we'd all be speaking German right now.
I never said before the action is taken.
He does not have the freedom to make those decisions without being able to explain and defend them to the congress.
He must be able to defend why there was no advanced notice given and why the situation was viewed as an imminent threat.

Again I seriously doubt most Rs are going to be questioning too many Democrats for blowing up a terrorist.

This is about the one thing they typically arent partisan on.

The hypocrisy, as LG has only recently figured, is hopefully always fair game.

Taking the word of your enemy over your own intelligence agencies and military?????
Certainly the thing only a traitor would do.
Wink...wink.

Trump/Putin anyone?

That is probably the dumbest thing I think I've seen from you. Since I'm playing catch up, it will go to somebody else to scoop the cat box and your thoughts found there.

Only an idiot would claim that I was blaming Trump.
Just as only an idiot would claim that the shooting down of the airplane (if it was shot down) had no connection to the heightened tensions in play.

I’m positive in a past life your Indian name was ... “ Dances around the flames “ . Lol

I see you have no context.

Oh but he does.

Honest question , how far would the Brits and Canucks push Iran if it was Americans and not their citizens ? That’s how far we should push Iran on the matter ( in my opinion )

From the list of "Canadian" names published I can't see the Canadians really sticking their necks out. Apparently anybody can be Canadian because those sure weren't from the original British or French stock; the list of "Canadian" victims looked like they could have been pulled from any number of ME phone directories ... if the ME is organized enough to even have phone directories.
