US may have killed Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani

Sure, but you look more closely in time to the event that more immediately caused the next.
You look at it through a twisted prism to come up with more crap.

You got caught with your hand in the cookie jar but it was your Mom's fault for baking the cookies and putting it in a jar that you could reach in to. So she gets the time out.

Is that how it worked at your house?

Your Mom is to blame for being proximate cause of your dysfunction.

So here's some more natural sequence of events:
Soleimani directing and aiding in acts that killed Americans (amongst many others, civilians included) was the proximate cause for him being labeled a terrorist by Obama. So he was fair game since 2011. He directed the recent occupation of the US Embassy in Baghdad. Soleimani's terrorism was the proximate cause of his death and the Iranians are responsible for us having to kill him. Therefore the Iranians are responsible for all proximate acts including the downing of the airliner. And they owe us for the cost of the missile used to terminate him.

Is that how this works?
B I N G O.

I'm frickin' fed up with these terrorism apologists.

Kill Americans, attack an embassy, torture your own people? You're going to get whacked.

You skipped over the whole "imminent threat" part.
It was Trump who said multiple times that he took the action because of "imminent threat".
If that's true, congress should be informed.
If it's not true, which is increasingly appearing to be the case, Trump should stop lying.
you are a pathetic hack.

Did Obama ask the house and senate to debate the pros and cons of dropping the Navy's finest on Bin Laden's ass? Sometimes when you have actionable intelligence, you do what must be done, chop-chop. Like it or not, any president could have the tough job of making these decisions on the fly with minimal consultation. It's easy to monday morning quarterback these things, but if he had a whiff that American lives were at risk and could curtail it, it's his duty.

Who are you? And what the hell did you do with Septic???

The pos was a recognized terrorist by multiple administrations. That’s the justification. It’s all that’s required. I often think that Trump sycophants live in la-la land but you and LG are being beyond ridiculous and stupid.
It was within his right to take out this terrorist so I will break it down the way it could have went down. The protest that happened around the embassy brought about fears of Benghazi. Trump decided to act but he really didn't know how to go above what the military was already doing. He brings in some people with actionable intelligence and they go over options. Trump chooses one with reckless abandon and escalated the situation. Now the ME is even less stable than it was before Trump decided to abandon the Kurds and increase troops all over the ME while telling his supporters we are getting out of endless wars. This indirectly lead to Iran accidentally shooting down a commercial airliner killing all aboard.

Nope. However, it doesn't matter if the father and son whacko set are fiscal conservatives or not. The electorate wants free stuff and not being a pure democracy, they can't empty the treasury themselves; therefore, they have to elect the people who will do that for them. You won't see fiscal conservatives again ever most likely, but certainly not until the electorate itself changes. The rise of the liberals and instant demise of the Tea Party should be proof enough of that for you.

What in God's name are you rambling about?

That’s a reasonable debate to be had.

Too bad she didn't just go the planned parenthood route and dig it out with a coat hanger.

Again you with the crap. I was refuting Luthers ignorance that the POTUS does not have the power to do what he did, WPA and AUMF gives him the power to do.

Do you want to argue that they do not give him the authority to do exactly what he did?

I'd certainly hope that the chief executive/commander in chief has the power to act. If he/she has to rely on congress to get off its ass and pull its collective head out to do something, we're in real trouble. That would be the classic example of rule by committee ... and the larger the committee the less chance of a decision. Throw in "tribalism" as it's been used today, and we'd have been extinct sometime back during the cold war. The day we don't have a president crazy enough (in the Patton sense of the word) is the day we bend over and become the world's patsy again.

It is noteworthy that Republicans, any of them, are taking power away from him. And so publically.

I think you are getting the cart before the horse here but I understand your excitement. The left has got you guys worked up so many times saying it will be this time that you are too invested to pull back now .

This is what happened in April ....

That was to end the war in Yemen. Not even remotely the same thing. This is Trump's baby. Going after Iran. And enough people are terrified of his impetuous nature that they dont fully trust him moving forward.

They shouldn't. Trump is unfit for office and a danger to the country and the world.

What I read said the guy started filming after the first hit. So the video is showing the second hit. This is consistent with US intelligence saying two missiles were fired.

That statement keeps bothering me. The plane doesn't show up in the video until the explosion. I could see that a first missile shoot could get his attention; but if it hit the plane, it didn't appear to have caused damage resulting in flames. Then again maybe he could see more with the naked eye than the video could capture. Something about it all still doesn't feel quite right.

For kicks, here's a pic I took years ago during my Army days. Missiles fired nearby do get your attention.
