US may have killed Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani

He's a terrorist, the fact he works for Iran is irrelevant.

It’s completely relevant. We just assassinated another country’s military leader. This isn’t simply a terrorist organization. This is an act of war on another country. There are a lot of scumbags out there, it doesn’t mean this was a wise decision.

LOL.......the Media thinks Trump should have consulted them before he acted......morons.
They all seem to act like one of their own relative was snuffed out....They are in mourning.

and that ought to learn ya the state of affairs here at home. Sad eh?

Just from a pure resource standpoint, the US would be the clear favorite.

Of course, but we all acknowledge that the war in Iraq was a disaster. Imagine Iraq with a significantly stronger army with far more difficult terrain to travel through. This isn’t a question of if we win, it’s a question of is it worth the costs? Absolutely not.

I've already said I didn't know enough about it to comment on the particulars. Just sharing what I see on Reddit.
I plan to read up on it more.
Any good articles on the situation you'd recommend?

I truly applaud your willingness to learn, but you're never gonna find a "reputable" source who will tell you the truth. Bottom line...these MF's are dead if they eff with us now that we have a CiC that is willing to end them. You're being mislead if you believe anything about ME quagmires. We don't even need ground troops except to help clean up the scraps of whatever is left if we actually decide to end the Mullahs reign of terror.

I don’t think you understand the significance of this event.
So from what I've gathered, the US killed someone today that was labeled as the head of a terrorist organization back in April by the State Department. This same person was also responsible for helping Shia militias in Iraq fight ISIS. And he has ties to supposed terrorist movements in Lebanon and Palestine. No proof of that last sentence, just what Trump and friends are claiming.
So who is going to bring the white board out and explain this? Seems like a cluster ****, as usual.

Everybody is mistaking the chess board of past games with the current King. The game has changed in a very significant way.

There are a lot of people on here saying that Qassem Soleimani wasn't just a simple terrorist and many will compare him to Bin Laden. But Qassem Soleimani was more than a terrorist and this isn't like killing Bin Laden. This is like if we had killed Tojo during WWII. He reported directly to the Supreme Leader and he outranked and held more power than the Iranian President. He commanded the Quds Force which makes the Taliban look like angels. We basically killed the Iranian head of state and we should expect the Iranians to retaliate as if we did.

The table has been flipped over and everyone is trying to figure out where their chess pieces were on the board. We are in uncharted territory.

This is what I'm seeing in what I've read about the situation. Pardon my ignorance. I'm trying to get caught up on the situation.
