So doing a quick google search these latest agreements appear to be a revival of the 1975 Algiers Accord. That was primarily economic and I see nothing pertaining to military/defense cooperation. NAFTA or it’s current replacement doesn’t allow military personnel to move across sovereign nation boundaries. So I don’t see anything that says Iraq wanted this guy in their country.Because they are stuck between a rock and a hard place and have no idea what to do.
Carlos is the most confusing military man I have ever seen...and my whole family is military. Like all of them.
We will establish a no fly zone over any country on Earth not named China or Russia
Then we will pound the absolute sheit out of anything we think MAY BE a target. Period.
Boots on the ground ain't happening
Edited
We have boots on the ground in Iraq and Syria and countless other places in the Mid East. Iran and her proxies could be given the green light to attack them. Not just people either they could target out ships at sea as well.
Why would we ever try to engage a ground war with Iran??? That's for you too Carlos
Trump hasnt once tried to nation build or conquer a country. He has been REPEATEDLY provoked by Iran...and kept a cool head.
Our objective with Iran is the same it has been for decades.
Stop their terrorist activities.
Do not under any circumstances allow them to get nuclear weapons.
The Iranian people will have to oust the oppressive Mullahs themselves. Trump isnt stupid enough to put boots on the ground in Iran and try to conquer them...espc in an election year....
If and when they respond and attack us or Israel you can count on another "bombs over Baghdad" shock and awe show of overwhelming air attacks....tomahawk cruise missiles by the hundreds followed by stealth attacks after the SAM sites are gone.
Good job US and Israel...the most successful terrorist on Earth is dead. Iran can feel the wrath of a thousand tomahawks if they want it. Carrier battle groups are already in range.
Somebody bring me up to speed, just the facts, what let up to this? This is a bold calculated move that would typically be in retaliation for something.
I've not been following with politics/events for months since we bought the farm. I apologise in advance.
Well, I'm torn on if this was a good thing or not after some more reading. Dude that was killed was a terrorist and deserved what he got. He was also a high up official in Iran; I'm not sure he was worth the risk of things going to hell. He also actively fought against ISIS in Iraq.
This seems like a favor to Israel to me, and a response to the protests at the Embassy the other night.
None of this seems like "4d chess" by Trump. He isn't capable of anything like that. It seems like a straight favor to Israel, and probably an overreaction to the Embassy protests as a show of force.
It seems to me that they killed one of our civilian contractors recently, then we retaliated by bombing and killing about 15 or 20 of their fighters. Then they attacked our embassy in retaliation. Then , they mouthed off, and said we couldn't do jack sh!t about it.Somebody bring me up to speed, just the facts, what let up to this? I get this brother...and want none in harm's way. Iran isnt worth a single US life. I do not support an invasion or ground war.
I do support overwhelming air attacks if they attack us or Israel. Tomahawks, drones, and stealth...in that order.
Ah, I see. Iran not even using proxies here. A decisive message was in order it seems. So both sides cool off now or poop gets real, that's the million dollar question.Started with a missile attack on a US base in Iraq that killed an American contractor and wounded US servicemen. We bombed the group responsible. Then the pro-Iran element of the PMF tried to breach the US embassy in Baghdad. Then this happens today.
Surprised you characterize a mob trying to overrun our embassy as “protesters”.Well, I'm torn on if this was a good thing or not after some more reading.
