US may have killed Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani

Al-Shabaab attacked a U.S. base in Kenya.

Don't think Iran has a relationship there could be they just thought the timing was too good to pass up?

The Iraqi Parliament voted to expel US Troops from Iraq. Finally the US can pull all the soldiers out of Iraq which should have been done a decade ago!

If you think we're leaving Iraq you're going to be sadly mistaken.

The US should pull all the troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq and that should have been done a decade ago. Keep US Soldiers in Saudi Arabia and Syria if you have to but pull out of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Only 170 members of the Iraqi Parliament voted to ask the US to leave - all Shia. The 320+ Sunni and Kurdish Representatives were not present to vote and have stated they're glad to have our presence.

Then we accomplished nothing in 2003, all the more reason to pull out of Iraq. The country is divided still along religious lines.

You can’t pull out of Iraq and leave troops in Syria. The supply lines in Syria go through Iraq.

The Sunni and Kurdish Representatives should have showed up and voted then.

They really don’t. But every so often they get a weapons from Iran that get smuggled through Yemen.

And if we were ignore Iraqi request to leave their country it would do more harm than good.

What about the more direct route of from Saudi Arabia? Wouldn't that seem like the most logical and easiest supply line?

In saying this, do you not come off as intolerant yourself? Not all Muslims are evil terrorists, which is the idea you seem to be promoting. Being honest, I would like to think we could live together in peace, but maybe that's not possible. If not, maybe we should strive to live in peace separately. But the idea of annihilating an entire religion, genocide, that's just absurd, and beyond evil IMO.

Yes, I would say my attitude and response mark me as intolerant. I like to believe that intolerance is the one thing of which I'm intolerant, but it's simply not true. I don't tolerate well at all people with different beliefs trying to force those beliefs on me or my way of life. If we can exist separately with our own views of the world, that's fine; but we don't even do that well in this country. The constitution and our own initial thoughts supported a much more local based government which relied on a central government for things as national defense; however, we lost our way on that one. We even fought a very bloody war with state's rights as one objective; I'd say that our current strong central government running roughshod is an indicator that perhaps the wrong side won that one.

Anyway, I view our constitution as not merely promoting freedom of religion but as freedom from religion in that the founders wanted nothing of state sponsored religion or of religious sects dominating or posing as government. To that extent I believe that Islam is welcome to it's own states but not welcome to expand and then demand the formation of new Islamic states because they find themselves in the "majority". Look to the southern Philippines today and the demands for new Islamic controlled states. In fact look at that entire section of the globe and the original populations in what are now Islamic countries. Many of those island nations have traditionally and historically more to do with the Southeastern Asia where Islam was never a factor. Simon and Garfunkel weren't singing about Islam when they said "silence like a cancer grows", but it sure fits the mold when states elect to congress "some people" who obviously have no respect for our established way of life.

Iran has threatened to hit 35 different targets and attack the US Military along with the Israeli Defense Force:rolleyes::mad:

Sure. Following through with that threat would not end well for them. The IDF is patiently waiting for an excuse to make Iran disappear, so it's not a good idea to piss them off.

Afterwards, I imagine the Iranians response to resemble this.
