US State Department Stirring It Up With Iran...

It looks like the next Middle East War is about to start and I think it will be the US,Israel,Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States against Iran and possibly Russia or North Korea who supply Iran. The US could wind up fighting in Venezuela at the same time it's fighting this huge Middle East War.

I don’t think we have 125,000 troops and I don’t think congress would sign off on an AUMF.

Trump was speaking in terms of not changing your CIC in wartime. You know better

No he wasn't, your spin on President all hat, no cattle is noted however.

Our military response should be limited to airstrikes or anti-ship strikes.

Putting troops on the ground will be disastrous.

There would be strong opposition in the House.
Would it be enough? It’s not hard to see how Russia plays into this, and we all know how much animus the democratic base has for them. Don’t count on the centrist House leadership to quash this. They always placate the base in the worst ways.

Trump says that number is fake news and we would send a "hell of a lot more troops than that"
Yea you would need a hell of a lot more. Looks like the 120,000 would be logistics support with the main body following on later.

“Defense Department officials who have been briefed on the details of the updated military plans for Iran agreed to speak with Newsweekon condition of anonymity. Pentagon officials confirmed a report published in The New York Times on Monday outlining an option to deploy as many as 120,000 U.S. troops to the Middle East if Iran initiates an attack on U.S. forces or continues to work on what the U.S. has alleged were secret nuclear proliferation objectives. Pentagon officials told Newsweek that if deployed, the role of the 120,000 U.S. forces would center on logistical support and developing infrastructure to preposition U.S. forces for the option of a ground invasion. The original 120,000 would integrate into an additional surge of U.S. forces sent into the region.”
