US State Department Stirring It Up With Iran...

Nothing ironic about. Our biggest threat to our country is our border and the people coming in it.

The situation at the borders isn’t even considered a top 25 national security concern by DoD, the Joint Chiefs of Staff or any Intelligence agency.

Well since we increased their influence with Iraq war 2, I’d say it has decreased since we shifted focus to Syria.

I read an artice the other day that said the US gov and border patrol believes 10,000 islamic illegal immigrants, most thought to be radical, have entered our country through mexico in the last few years. It took 13 of them to kill 3,000 innocents in NY...

YOU might not think thats a big threat Carlos, but I sure as hell do. We all should. Those guys werent vetted. They werent searched for explosives or other weapons. They werent put anywhere that we can track them...thats huw you end up with terrorist training grounds like the one just discovered in alabama recently...thats how we end up with our worst nightmare, suicide vests in pur churches and grocery stores, that we have tried so hard to prevent.

I appreciate your service. Have told you that before. But as a soldier, who sees first hand how effective a fence is at stopping unwanted people getting on base in Afghan territory etc, i think it is being willfully ignorant for you to actlike we dont need one pn our southern border to stop the same thing. America doesnt have an open door policy. Period. Want to come here, there is a vetting process, and an immigration process. Without a secure border, that is all BS....and we are ALL AT RISk.

Liberals dont get to choose to make my wife and kids, our churches, schools, and stores vulnerable to suicide bombers like europe and the middle east. We are different here. Better. Safer. Thank the Lord, Trump is trying to keep it that way. Ask Israel how important that fence is.

Marcus, you are more likely to be struck by lightning than attacked by terrorists in the US. that is why people are saying this border threat is overhyped. There is always an element of danger involved in living in a free country. One of your church members who had a bad day at work is far more likely to snap and shoot up the place than a muslim terrorist that crossed the southern border. If you spend all your time obsessing and raging about something so unlikely to happen.. the people who push these narratives and want you to be emotionally driven and angry win. And so do the terrorists that want to scare Americans into making poor decisions out of fear. They want a holy war and you seem obliged to give it to them.

People are bad at statistically assessing risk.

As an underwriter do you assess terrorism risks and illegal uninsured motorists when drawing up auto insurance policies?

I actually do health and life, group level. We don't cover folks overseas. Terrorism is a non-factor in the US.

Lol. Sure it’s a factor and 100% probability it happens again. Why is there a need for risk assessment in health insurance? I thought the dims did away with that.

You are not very familiar with the insurance industry if you think there is no longer risk assessment. You ever heard of voluntary benefits?

One day one of my sister patrols was sitting at the ECP waiting go out. While they were waiting smoking and joking a Taliban member threw a 107mm rocket with the wire running out of it over the concrete barrier. Lucky they were to dumb to use a remote detector. Also in 2017 the Taliban crawled under wall and conducted a suicide bombing during the Air Force 5k. My overall point is that non political types whose job it is to evaluate national security threats to the U.S. have repeatedly stated that the situation at the border is not a major threat to us. The border has gone from an actual problem that could be solve to a political issue that is used to attempt to mobilize voters for elections. When the chairman of the Jonit Chiefs of Staff testified before Congress the border was not one of his top 5 pressing issues his top 5 were Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, and transnational violent extremism. And no where in the top 15 is the situation at the border. Link the article because that’s literally something that I’ve read in a Tom Clancy book.

Who's in charge?

Dysfunction as usual in the Administration. Trump sort of ran as an anti-war Republican after you parse through the lies and bs. He probably should have avoided appointing Miller and Bolton to any role in government. Those two would invade Switzerland if given the chance.
