USC Appeal denied completely

The Era of Emmert is upon college athletics. I wouldn't be looking forward to facing the Committee On Infractions any time in the near future.

doubtful that even if this era weren't underway that it would've changed the appeal for USC. There was no possible way they were going to win.

how did I miss that?

It was a sarcastic sentence. The /sarcasm should have given it away but you still felt the need to respond with "that you know of".

I'm fully aware that shady deals with agents and players and their parents happen at every major school.

That POS Todd McNair made it worse on USC

The whole culture they set up out their made it worse on them. You could have rented a billboard that said Eff U NCAA with a Trogan logo and still not been as indignant on rules as they were. I agree the NCAA sucks and I don't like teams getting hit but you don't hire a guy like Kiffin while under investigation and then allow him to pick up recruits in a limo and call our EE's unless your asking for it.

Oh, I think this new crew is going to be consistent. The Vest is probably already crafting his "retirement" speech for November.

Agreed he's putting together highlight reels not watching practice tape at this point.
The NCAA is swinging hard back the other direction like a drunk driver. Sucks we had to be carrying around our baggage when they decided to wake up.

UT's done pretty much everything possible to mitigate the damage and appease the angry overlords. The only thing that would have made things better would have been terminating Tanning Bed immediately.

I'm going to bump this thread after Tennessee's basketball issue is resolved.

Bump it, heck we all know with what Pearl did and Kiff and Reaves and the whole 9 it isn't going to end in a fairy tale.

Reggie Bush owns a bunch of this mess, too. If he had simply paid Lloyd Lake the money he owed him, none of this ever happens.

Reggie Bush is an idiot. If giving up the chance to sleep next to Kim Kardashian's fanny isn't proof enough then not paying Lloyd will do too.

You don't make a ho a housewife. I'd say he played it pretty smart.

Oh, the folks at USC will stress it all day long if you ask them. Bush being a deadbeat caused all of this.

But knowing this if the powers in control had half as much sense as balls out there they would have taken an entirely different tack. Hell they could probably have gotten away with having a booster do the payoff and moved on from Reggie.

Doesn't this kind of kill any chance USC has at being really good for a while? Maybe they'll have a couple good years but then the scholarship reductions seem like they'll make it a long time before they can win again.

It amazes me sometimes how stupid some athletes can be. You got loads of money but you can't pay your debts.
