USC coach calls Hurd "soft"?

I associate a soft football player (particularly a back or receiver) with someone that shies away from contact and is reluctant to block and engage defenders. That is not at all what Jalen Hurd does per the film that I have seen on him. He is not soft.

I don't think he's soft either.

But I would be lying if I had not heard players on all levels who get hurt dismissed as "soft", whether it was fair or not.

I welcome any trash talk and JH probably does too as it can only provide motivation. Thanks Tee if you are the one that said it.

....don't be mad.

I'm not down on Hurd, I hope he wins the heisman so we can kiil two idiotic conspiracy birds with one stone.

I'm not mad and I don't dislike Martin I just don't think that former UT players should talk crap about current UT players who haven't even played a single down yet. That being said, maybe it wasn't even Martin that said it, didn't he deny it was him?

People seem to have a hard time separating VLF college years from staying gainfully employed...

He didn't NEED to say it...as he gains experience in football coaching 101...embrace cliches.

Yeah I'm sure it was like,
Coach ___ "Hey Tee, what do you think of Jalen Hurd?"

Tee: "Man, that dude's sofT, s,o,f capital T!"

Coach: "Yeah, we're gonna go ahead and keep you on, maybe even give you a raise. Good work son."

Yep, talking crap about freshmen who've yet to play any college ball will keep you gainfully employed.

You are an all time no nothing douschebag bag if you think Tee did more then Peyton. It's not even close. The defense bailed out Tee over and over all year. He couldn't hold Peyton's jock strap. So...stfu.

The defense didn't shut down everybody. Hell they needed every one of the 34 points the offense put up just to get past Syracuse in the opener. Not to mention the 21-3 deficit against Arkansas.

Tee may not have been as good as Peyton but that doesn't mean he had nothing to do with the championship. He wasn't in there just to hand the ball off to Jamal Lewis and Travis Henry. Those who act like UT could've thrown Jim Bob Cooter in there and still won it all are simply wrong.

He does have 1st amendment rights like all of us but that doesn't mean we have to like his petty remarks and not call him out for being an immature and bitter opponent of ours that he now is. He can't have it both ways. If he is going to make nasty and completely unsubstantiated comments about a player of ours who has not even played a down of college football yet and then lie about making those comments then he is our enemy now. If he is a Trojan that is fine but I know a certain street that needs to be renamed and a certain wax figure that needs to be carted away to a melting pot. A divorce is a divorce.

Ok, 1st Amendment rights??? Do you think the government is gonna start arresting or censoring coaches? Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think the Feds are gonna shut down or gag Tee in this case.

Ummm, I didn't say that they were...Read my post again. It was in response to what Crew said about Tee having the "right" to say what he wanted. I do understand that the right to free speech just applies to the government's attempts toward censorship but my point was that Tee does have the right to speak his mind and that we have the right to disagree with him and call him out for his petty immaturity. My point was also made in a manner of jest which I think was apparent to anybody not just looking to pick a fight on a message board or act like the smartest kid in class.

Bahahaha

That is definitely Tee making that statement. Him denying it is hilarious to me, because you can obviously tell that it is his voice in the video.

Has he denied it? Have not seen any quote from Tee denying the comment.

People need to chill...guy said this in a room full of his fellow coaches and likely forgot there was a hot mic in the room

Probably true but does that make it better?

yes it does actually.

what you say in private (in a meeting room or in the locker room) is a lot different than what you would say to the media.

comment is sour grapes IMO...just jealous Hurd didn't consider USC

He has EVERY RIGHT to express his opinion...and he exercised it...now we have the RIGHT TO RETORT!!! and carve out a new butt**** and implant a Jalen Hurd foot embryo inside...so it can be warm...and grow :hmm:
