Thanks for remembering BPV...I said 2-3 and I said OL and DT.

Larry why would you talk to people who are insiders with USC? Why not the TN coaching staff? Ask to see the text messages to LT while you are over there. For the years I have been following you have been one of the most connected guys, is it harder under Dooley?

Here's what I said about freshman versus the transfers....

They are much more impressionable and coachable coming in than transfers. Especially, if those transfers have been in a college system for 3+ years.

There's obviously some confusion about this topic. I'll clear it up. The USC players coming to Knoxville are O.J. Simpson and Al Cowlings. They will be searching all the local strip clubs and golf courses for the real killer of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman.

Eric, we are most likely talking about two OL and a DT. The linebackers would be thrilled to have a stud DT making it easier for them to do their work, and any OL on our team is either a true freshman or could not beat out the Sullins walk ons. In either case they can shut their mouth if they have a problem with a team down 9 scholarships adding depth.

You take 9 guys from USC, it might create a team chemistry problem. You take 2 guys on the OL and 1 DT and they thank everyone for accepting them and giving them an opportunity, and 1 or 2 of them not only start but get drafted? Any UT player complaining about that is an idiot.

^^^ this ^^^ ... or the so called "BIG FISH" that never materialized last year. Not to mention the idiotic newspaper ad / billboard scheme, then asking fans to fund it. Basilio is a tool, can't believe anyone actually takes him seriously.

Some of you act as if Dooley would bring them over and put them in some sort of "automatic start" position. Use your head, you know that wouldn't happen. The best players will play, always. I wouldn't say this in all entirety about Kiffin, but I will about Dooley. The best players will play.

Now I will say this, if some USC do in fact come over and they are better at not only playing but understanding schemes, plays, mission of the team, etc...well then play them. If it hurts someone's feelings, this is how adult life works. Business operate like this, everything that is looking to be not only successful, but continued success, operates like this. Work harder, work smarter, it will teach them a valuable lesson.

I agree with almost all of this.

I will say though that "X" is usually pretty spot-on and listening to him/her is more times than not a good thing to do.

As for TB, if he were as legit as he thinks he is, he would have a much better radio deal and a website that doesn't look like it was created with an old version of Netscape Navigator on Windows 95.

I don't put much stock in what Tony says either, in fact I only go to his site for updates from "X" but I have to give him credit for this one...he started reporting this early last week. I just didnt put much stock in it until "X" backed it up.

Why not talk to USC insiders about this subject? Media person who covers USC and someone I've know for about 3 years so a good source. Was my guest at a UT - Florida game a few years back.

I've never pumped UT coaching staff for information even when Fulmer and staff was here nor sourced anything they happened to tell me. Be a very good way to lose all access to the program. I'll respect this staff the same way and not do that.
