USC sanctions

The 'AA issued a statement. It’s 2 year bowl ban. 10 scholarships a year for 3 years (30 total). Vacation of all wins from Dec. 04-Dec. 05. They also get 4 years of probation.

The NCAA said its findings included "a lack of institutional control, impermissible inducements, extra benefits, exceeding coach staff limits, and unethical conduct by an assistant football coach."

What assistant are they referring to I wonder?

Todd McNair. He was at one time considered a candidate to replace Eddie Gran at Tennessee. He was retained by Lane from Pete Carroll, however, I doubt he’ll still be employed there this time next week.

I do have a question once they appeal the decision the punishments are deferred until the appeal is decided right?

The sc site thinks all 30 scholly's are not for just the football team, that includes the tennis team also. Even their tennis team cheats.

Only if they cheated to get their players to come to campus. If Reggie Bush just got a house when he was already there, then the rest of the players shouldn't lose a national title.

If he was paid, allbeit it through direct compensation or favors, real estate, etc...that would make hime ineligible to compete as an amateur. Thus all games he participated in should be null and void and forfeited because whatever bearing, be it great or small that he had on determing an outcome of a game would have been affected with him playing even one single play and yes every and all games he participated in and that was won by that particular USC squad should be vacated and titles and awards taken away.

Reduction of football athletics scholarships to 15 initial grants and 75 total grants for each of the 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 academic years. This represents a decrease of 10 scholarships for each of the three seasons.

If I understand this correctly, this means they can only take 15 this year, next year, and the next year, right?
